While a proper classic pickup can haul a ton of stuff, this 1985
Ford F-150 is also a ton of fun. Because beneath the sleeper-style
vibe are upgrades like a well-built 351 V8 and a
This pickup is almost purely incognito. You have the creamy tan
paint that was almost standard issue for a work truck back in the
day. The same goes for the dog dish hubcaps. And the full liner in
the bed is ready for real pickup duty. But that classic cream is
also a matte finish with a touch of street machine attitude. Smooth
painted bumpers, deleted badging, crystal clear headlights, hot rod
side mirrors, and a blackout grille with bright surround are all
subtle details that this one is something a bit more. And of
course, the large dual exhaust tips and lowered stance are pure
sport tuck cool.
The first impression of the interior is just a clean and
comfortable space. A recovered bench seat, good door panels, and
newer carpeting give the fundamentals a nice feeling. And you even
have some fun extras, like the sliding rear glass and a retro-style
AM/FM digital tuner with aux input. Plus, the full red style adds a
little aggression. So does the upgraded sports steering wheel and
stick shift with 8-ball topper.
The dark inner walls of the engine bay show off the bright and
powerful heart in the middle. This is Ford's mighty 351 cubic-inch
V8. IT's built with the right go-fast goodies, like a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, and shorty
headers feeding into 2.5-inch dual exhaust pipes. It's also
supported by the right pieces, like newer hoses, newer wires, a Pro
Comp high-intensity coil, and an aluminum radiator. This V8 loves
to fire up with a nice rumble from the Flowmaster mufflers, and
it's a strong runner out on the streets. The four-speed manual
transmission puts you in firm control of it all. Plus, power
steering, power brakes, and front discs make for a solid all-around
This custom F-150 revels in its sleeper-style presentation, and it
knows how to have fun out on the streets. That makes for a unique
classic pickup that you know you need to take home. Call
