This Boss 429 is a beast.
One of about 850 built by Ford for 1969 to homologate the engine for NASCAR, this Boss 429 was sent to Kar Kraft for final assembly and to fit in Ford’s massive 429 semi-hemispherical engine. It received KK# 1951. This Mustang Sportsroof boasts all original sheet metal with a re-paint to raven black from black jade in the ‘80’s.
In 1987, Dick Serdinak bought this car and began to unleash its performance potential. The founder of Boss Ideas and Portage Performance, Dick was a foremost expert and true master with Boss 429 power. While retaining the original sheet metal, interior, and stock Boss 429 engine (not no’s matching) Dick systematically sought out performance improvements over years on the dragstrip and in the shop. He tuned and drove this record-setting Boss 429 Mustang to three top stock NMCA national titles and multiple national speed records.
Now, at least temporarily retired from racing, the roll bar has been removed and the original interior carpet & seats have been re-installed along with magnum wheels and Polyglas tires. A Jerico 4-speed racing transmission remains in the car and the original number’s matching 4-speed close ratio manual transmission is included. This is an extremely powerful one-of-a-kind car.
Although some may claim to know a lot about this Mustang, I don’t think anyone but Dick knew all the adjustments and performance improvements he made. If you’re serious about purchasing, message me and I’ll send you links to extensive photos.
