Gasser. It is spectacularly beautiful, and runs fantastic. You will
not find another car like this one! It has a large amount of
documentation chronicling the history of the car. Some of that
history is offered here in this ad for reference. This is the Real
Brasher and Cummings Gasser that was built in the early 1960's by
Billy Brasher and Virgil Cummings. During its early career it was a
stock bodied 1933 Willys powered by a 302 Chevrolet that was fed by
six two barrel carbs and a 4 speed transmission. The car was
nicknamed ""BC"", and quickly became associated with the BC Comic
strip that centered around a cartoon caveman. In 1967 Gassers
quickly became wildly popular, and BC was right in the middle of it
all. At this time the car was running a Blown Big Block Chevy in
AG/S Class. During this period the Chassis was upgraded, while Tony
Del Rio Chopped the top, and painted the car its now iconic color.
As BC was constantly upgraded, the car remained incredibly
competitive in AG/S. Terry Rose would join the team, and in doing
so provide the car with a Blown and Fuel Injected 392 Hemi.
According to Cummings, BC ran its best speed of 168 MPH with the
Blown Big Block Chevy, but would run its all time best E.T of 8.36
with Hemi Power. The car was fast, incredibly good looking, and
always a crowd favorite! BC would garner many sponsors including
Vic Hubbard who would put the car on the cover of their 1970
Catalog. In the 1970's Funny Cars became far more popular than
Gassers, with their much faster E.T.'s. BC would be retired, and
sold, but continued in Bracket Racing. This was the period that saw
BC Receive its 'Pure Hell' Valve covers. It would ultimately be
painted Red, and renamed ""Flirtin' with Disaster"" It would
eventually find its way into the hands of Jim Tipper who had
intended to restore the car to its former glory. Unfortunately
during a test pass in 1987 the car was totaled and it was left to
sit until Jim, who was a business owner, rancher, and Family man
could get to the restoration. Over the next twenty years the car
was painstakingly restored to its 1968 Vintage appearance. In 2011
the car would roar to life, retaining its steel body, Hemi
Powerplant, Torqueflight Transmission, and Olds Rear end. The car
may have been retired from racing, but it looks, and runs every bit
as good as it did during that 1968 season so long ago. This is an
incredibly special car. Part of Dan Mershons personal Collection.
The car has been incredibly well maintained and cared for over the
years. For any serious buyers who want more detailed information,
