Vehicle Description
This 1976 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is a fully restored restomod
that offers the perfect mix of vintage and new. After all, this
classic 4x4 has a timeless look, and all the reinforcements to live
up to its go-anywhere reputation. There have also been terrific
upgrades, like A/C, four-wheel disc brakes, and a 6.0-liter
fuel-injected V8 heart.
One look at this 4x4 and you just want to go on an expedition.
After all, the classic Dune Beige with white on top makes this look
like it's fresh from an African safari. And this has all the right
pieces to be useful out in the wilderness. The front bumper is a
beefy ARB unit with a bull bar, and the rear has been upgraded to a
unit that features a swing-away mount for both the full-sized spare
and the carrier basket. But take a moment to dig deeper on this
Land Cruiser. It's a full build with less than 1,400 miles since
completion. They invested heavily to take this one down to details
like the bolts and door handles. And you can recognize the quality
in the way the new glass is clear and the time taken to get the
panels laser-straight. And the deep luster of the paint has been
ceramic coated to be both robust and shining.
So while all Land Cruisers are vintage and robust, this is the one
that can go straight from the trail to the head of the valet
line.
The interior was upgraded for both function and comfort. For
example, the floor has rugged liner paint. And while the classic
jump seats are still in place, there is a more comfortable set
w/seatbelts (it is removable.) It proves to you that there was
extra care that went into the layout of this FJ, and the
thoughtfulness is really seen up front. The classic bench seat is
gone, and now you have high-back bucket seats with modern
bolstering. There's an armrest center console in-between that's
also a lockbox. There are features you never thought you could get
on a classic Land cruiser, like R134a air conditioning and cruise
control. And the grippy sports steering wheel is mounted on a tilt
column so that you get a clear view of the upgraded Dakota Digital
full gauge package.
Under the hood is a terrific upgrade to a modern LS-based V8
package. This fuel-injected 6.0 motor. It was built for robust
power with a high-rise aluminum intake, 102mm throttle body, and
high flow fuel rails. You can also spot the right supporting
components, like a serpentine belt system, an Optima red top
battery, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The full
presentation is just as fresh as the interior and exterior. But the
most impressive freshness is the undercarriage. You can really see
they were not kidding when talking about taking this one down to
the bolts during the restoration. Plus, you have an Old Man Emu
suspension kit, a proper two-speed 4x4 transfer case, and BF
Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires. And when you're just taking this
Toyota out on the pavement, the four-speed automatic transmission
w/overdrive, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes are
handy features, too.
This is that amazingly thoughtful build that gives you the
old-school look you love and all the modern features you demand. So
if you want the best all-around FJ restomod, you know this is the
one. Call today!!!
