One of the finest examples of an amazing luxury roadster built by Mercedes Benz that is sure to continue to rise in value and collectibility. This very low mileage example is in absolutely amazing condition and was extremely well maintained and recently serviced. It was a spring and summer driver all of its life and had just 3 owners. Original owner sold the car in 1994 with just ver 9000 miles on it to a gentleman who then owned it for 26 years before passing away. He left the car to his good friend who I recently purchased it from. She explained that this car was his baby and that he was meticulous about the care and service it received and he used the same independent Mercedes Specialist for the past 25 years who kept it in tip top shape. She was actually afraid to drive it, concerned that if anything happened it to it she would be letting him down. This 560SL sold for more than $54,000 when new 35 years ago and we have the original window sticker, owners manual, and warranty plate.We also have extensive history filled out in the warranty book as well as are recent service records. You would be hard pressed to fine a nicer one and this one is absolutely turn key and ready to be enjoyed. As you would expect with a luxury sports car of this caliber, this 560 SL was always garage keptt and pampered. Paint and body are in near flalwess condition and the Signal Red is the perfect color to show off the classic lines of this investment quality collectible. Recently detailed, the paint has amazing reflection and the body shows no evidence of any accidents as backed up by the Carfax report. Paint is believed to be original and other than a couple of extremely tiny chips that were touched up it looks close to showroom new. There is a tiny ding the size of my pinky nail on top edge of drivers side rear fender that must people would never see. Bumpers look great, chrome and trim all looks great. Glass and weather stripping all look fantastic. Original Wheels are in beautful conditiin with no curb rash. These cars should be enjoyed with the top down as often as possible but of course we do have the original matching Red hard top with a stand for storage. The convertible top looks almost brand new and functions perfectly and we have both tools for locking down the top. Check out all the pics and the vide to see how nice the body on this '86 560SL is.
Complimenting the Signal Red Exterior is a beautiful Creme Beige leather interior.. The leather is in outstanding condition and is a true testament to the quality that Mercedes was known for. Their was some sun fade from the years that was typical for this color interior so we had it professionally dyed to look good as new. There was no Rea wear even on the drivers seat indicating again at just hw well taken care f it was. The dash is in beautiful condition with no cracks. The woodgrain in the center console looks fantastic. All of the gauges and lights appear to be working correctly. The original Beck Stereo still works nicely. Matching Tan Carpeting looks great and Mercedes floor mats finish out the interior. The air conditioning blows ice cold and was recently serviced. I took it to a Mercedes Specialist and had the refrigerant converted to the R134 and they installed a new dryer and A/c pressure switch. They found that the a/c was blowing great from the side vents but not the center vent. Too much risk of things breaking if they removed the dash and the A/C is plenty strong from the 2 vents to keep driver and passenger icy cold. Power windows work great. Clock appears to be the only thing not working.
The bullet proof power train under the hood of this '86 560 SL has just 46550 original miles on it ,which for those of you who know about this 5.6L V8, means it has basically just been broken in.. Aside from just having low mileage this 560 was also meticulously serviced by a Mercedes Specialist. All of the service history is documented in the warranty book as well as me recent service history receipts. This 560 is the best running one I have owned and I have owned several with lower miles. I think one reason is that the front sub frame mounts were all recently replaced along with new Billstein shocks. This roadster glides along the highway and handles the windy roads with ease and in silence. This particular SL also has all the power you would expect and is a blast to drive Brakes are great, and new set f Michelins were put on abut 4000 miles ago You should not need to do anything other then turn the key and enjoy!! Inside the trunk looks great and you will find the original Mercedes tool kit never even removed from the plastic. . Orginal Spare wheel and tire look brand new. iUndercarriage is rock solid and original and obviously never saw salt or rough weather.
Extensive original Documentation included including all of the original manuals and the original factory documentation which certainly will help round out the investment value of this soon to be Classic. We also have both sets of original factory keys and original master key blank. . This 560 SL is a pure pleasure to drive and when you are comparing this one to the others keep in mind the originality and documented maintenance history this one has. Anyone who has owned a Mercedes knows that when they are not taken care of repairs are quite costly. I am confident the next lucky owner of this Luxury Mercedes Roadster will be absolutely thrilled.....maybe you??!!!
