For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle in Ft Worth, Texas

Vehicle Description

When a car is right, you can tell just by looking at it. Given the predatory stance on this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu, there's no question the guys who built it did their homework. With a powerful 355 V8 ZZ4 crate motor under the hood, a classic red-on-black color combination, and a host of choice options, this frame-off restored Chevelle is dialed-in, dressed for battle, and ready to be enjoyed.

Originally Code 59 Frost Green, the restorers wanted to spice things up a bit and elected to change to a bright red livery, an upgrade that suits this A-Body very well in our opinion. With black SS-style stripes that emphasize the gentle arc of the Chevelle sheetmetal, not to mention the aggressive stance crouching atop the thick rubber, this car looks the part of an apex predator. It almost seems like it's had its skin stretched tight over its chassis, and the fit of the panels and shiny paint make it look like someone cared. The work was done a few years ago, so there's evidence that it's been driven and used, but you can't complain about a bright red big block A-body. And lest we forget this Chevelle did receive a frame-off restoration, so despite the few 'comfort marks' you might see upon closer examination, it's still obvious that this was a proper build. This Chevelle just looks and feels like a car put together with great purpose, and the result still speak for themselves. We're especially pleased that it's still wearing its original hood rather than an aftermarket cowl-induction piece, and it works well with the simple grille up front, Chevelle and Malibu badges throughout (rather than any fake SS put-on), and brilliant chrome bumpers fore and aft.

The black bucket seat interior has been restored using correct seat covers, door panels, plush black carpets below, and a taut headliner above - not to mention all the other small detail pieces that are so tough to track down. Much like the exterior, the cabin shows only minor signs of use, and the materials and craftsmanship employed were high-grade, as expected of a frame-off restoration. A correct SS dash with round gauges is augmented by a big SunPro tachometer mounted to the right, while a couple of auxiliary units below help keep an eye on the engine's great vitals. The center console proudly wears a horseshoe shifter for the TH350 3-speed underneath, and the new padded steering wheel is a handsome 3-spoke unit that adds a touch of sportiness inside. In the center of the dash, the original radio has been replaced with a later Sony AM/FM/Cassette unit, which powers speakers on the rear package shelf, while the modern aftermarket A/C system utilizes the stock controls. Out back, the trunk is fairly spacious, presented bare to show off how solid this Chevelle's sheetmetal really is.

Horsepower is compliments of a 355/350 HP ZZ4 V8 crate engine that has been properly dressed in bright Chevy Orange paint and plenty of polished and chrome bits throughout. Situated between the bright red fender wells, it looks great, especially with dress-up items like the finned valve covers, chrome air cleaner, and performance intake manifold. Performance upgrades include an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, aluminum heads, long-tube headers, and a serpentine belt system running the accessories. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission manages the gears, twisting a bulletproof 12-bolt out back that is more than capable of handling all that added power under the hood. It runs extremely well today, with loads of torque available at any speed and in any gear, delivering the punch that you expect from a big Chevelle like this. Baer power front disc brakes provide sure, confident stops, and the Magnaflow dual exhaust system dumps out through correct oval chrome tips right under the rear bumper. The suspension sits right and someone definitely did their homework when it came time to stuff the wheel wells, because this one wears great-looking American Racing wheels and staggered 225/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear white-letter radials.

Modified just enough to generate serious attention, this dialed-in Chevelle puts a unique twist on a timeless classic. Call now!
