Vehicle Description
This 1950 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight is pure vintage fun with just the
right amount of extra flair added on top. So it makes for the
rounded chrome classic you'll love with just the right hint of V8
burble that will have you cruising all day long.
Oldsmobile was great at making a carefully crafted style in 1950.
You see it in the details, like how the grille gently melts into
the bumper, and the sweeping side trim begins as an extension of
the headlight bezel. In the rear, the fastback style is made even
sleeker by fender skirts. And the right little features are in
place, like the Oldsmobile globe emblem, rocket-like hood ornament,
and classic 88 badge on the trunk. There are the right hints of
classic car appeal with the two-piece windshield and whitewall
tires. But the bright dual exhaust tips also signal that this is a
true fun cruiser. And the full package is wrapped in a bold red.
This was an upgrade later in life, and so the sunlight loves to
show off the curves of this Olds.
More of that bright red awaits you inside, and now it's joined by a
tasteful tan. While the two colors are nicely intertwined on the
dash, door panels, and headliner, we particularly like the tuck and
roll style inserts on the seats that make for a very cool classic.
You even get cool details, like the grab handles finished in tan.
So it makes for a comprehensive-looking classic. You'll slip behind
the red steering wheel with the Olds globe artfully at the center.
And the full dash looks terrific with everything from the classic
gauges to the AM radio that's there for display.
We love that this has the 303 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. It was
the one that launched the Rocket era at Oldsmobile and was the
first mass-produced OHV V8. This is a terrific classic presentation
where we know you'll love pointing to that "Rocket" proclamation on
the bright valve covers. And even the correct green block is
distinctive. It's the kind of look that classic car lovers will
take extra time to check out. But the other reason to have the V8
is to have a cruiser. And features like the automatic transmission
and modern tread behind the classic whitewalls make it a much
easier classic.
When you have a true classic that's both bright and distinctive,
then you know you have the kind of car that's easy to love. Call
