It's hard not to fall in love with a grand coupe like this 1973
Cadillac Eldorado. This is true classic luxury cruising where you
have the right mix of preservation and investment on the bold
colors, luxury features (including A/C), and the massive and
original 500ci V8 under the hood.
This classic is rapidly approaching the half-century mark, and it
has one of those great stories about one-family ownership all its
life thus far. It was purchased by the father and then it was
handed down to his daughter. It has been kept correctly where it
has been preserved in all the places it can, but there was also no
hesitation to make the right investments. For example, the Chateau
Mauve Firemist paint is the factory-correct color. But it benefits
from a more modern respray that lets the metallic element radiate
and shows a good clearcoat shine. This was a cherished family car,
and so it's even believed the low odometer represents the full
actual mileage. This kind of care is seen in the straight body
panels, good chrome, and the little extras - like the factory wheel
covers and rear fender skirts. And we love the details, like how
the tan pinstripe that highlights the design lines of the hood also
coordinates with the half vinyl roof.
That roof color also gives you a preview of the interior, and this
kind of color coordination is what 1970s premium Caddy style is all
about. There's plenty of space for family and friends to spread
out, but with an individual armrest and power front seats, you
really get to dial-in the individual comfort. We love these classic
luxury machines because they have plenty of vintage style. You see
it everywhere from the wood-like trim to the AM/FM stereo w/8-Track
(the radio works, but the 8-Track function currently does not.) But
being vintage doesn't mean missing out on the right luxuries. So
you get power windows, power locks, cruise control, and a
tilt/telescopic steering column. The automatic climate control has
even been upgraded to R134a air conditioning, so you can truly
continue to cruise in comfort.
Cadillac's 500 cubic-inch V8 was the largest mass-produced
gas-powered engines ever built. Designed for effortless torque and
smooth operation, it's a willing companion to the Eldorado's luxury
mission. The motor appears highly original and properly maintained.
Cadillac knew that the serious displacement would be able to keep
these full-size coupes from feeling overburdened. So the total
package feels powerful while the suspension floats over the road
extremely nicely. The three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, front disc brakes, and modern Hankook tires help
emphasize this mission of a truly easy cruising machine.
This is a special coupe, and so it comes with terrific paperwork.
It includes the owner's manual packet, maintenance records, service
manuals, and original sales brochure & dealer documentation. Don't
let this special Caddy slip away, call today!
