This beautiful 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible Custom is the ultimate cruising machine with its striking looks, power convertible top, custom 18” Ridler 605 wheels, power windows, power steering and power brakes. The1965 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible model is a seldom-seen classic car that tickles the fancy of many people. As the original VIN tag indicates this car was built in Tarrytown, NY, as a 1965 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport 2-door Convertible. As the original cowl tag indicates it left the factory with a Danube Blue exterior, white convertible top and blue interior. This vehicle has 74,555 original miles and has been with the same owner who lives in Massachusetts from 2005-2021 totaling 16 years. This owner performed a frame off restoration and completed it around 2013. The exterior presents beautifully with its straight body and gorgeous original color combination. It retains most of its original sheet metal with exception of the rear quarters and some minor patch work. The hood, doors and trunk close very nicely. The car was painted in the desirable color of Admiral Blue which is very similar to the original color of Danube Blue. This color dresses this body style perfectly especially in combination with the new white convertible power top that has a glass window. A new convertible top boot is included. The paint is high quality and has recently been detailed to a show quality shine. Everything on the exterior has been restored or replaced such as the window trim, wipers, front grille, 4 Wagner headlights, front bumper, fender trim, door handles, bullet style taillights, rear bumper and emblems. The car sits on new 18 x8 Ridler 605 wheels that look stylish. The wheels are wrapped with new Falcon tires that are 245-45-18 on the front and 245-55-18 on the rear. The spacious interior was restored in its original color of blue and upholstered with Legendary products. The interior sports different shades of blue throughout which are easy on the eyes. This car was born with bucket seats and power windows which are also indicated on the cowl tag. Some other interior features include a Sunpro temperature gauge, factory vacuum gauge, custom sound system including portable CD player in glovebox, seat belts and custom carpeted floor mats. The trunk compartment was nicely restored and finished in the correct style trunk splatter paint. It has a factory style trunk mat, spare tire and jack tools. The engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout and recently re-freshened. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support was painted in satin black. The car is powered by a rebuilt 350 V8 that runs excellent. The engine has some modest upgrades such as a Comp cam, roller tip rockers, long water pump, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, new Edelbrock 600CFM carburetor, new orange Chevrolet finned valve covers and air cleaner, new HEI distributor and new Taylor Spiral Pro wires that were neatly organized. The 1-wire alternator was relocated to the passenger side and the power steering pump was relocated to a higher position for a cleaner look then what the factory did. The battery is equipped with a power cut off knob. The engine breathes through factory style manifolds and a custom exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers that has a sweet tone. The engine is coupled to the factory automatic transmission and 12-bolt rear end that both perform very nicely. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed throughout and recently re-finished. The underside of the body was painted with a textured material for durability. During the restoration everything underneath was restored or replaced such as the power steering components, suspension system and power braking system. During the re-freshening process everything was repainted for a crisp appearance. It’s equipped with rear air shocks so the rear height can be adjusted. This vehicle has been completely serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that is included.
