For Sale: 1979 Aston Martin V8 in Huntington Station, New York
-Raven Black with Black leather piped in Burgundy, Black Wilton
carpeting, 6.3 Liter engine, 5-speed manual gearbox, One of only
Eleven U.S. imported Flip Tail Vantages.
As noted on its factory build sheet, this V8 Vantage was originally
imported to Canada and sold through Canadian Aston agent GT Motors.
Throughout the years it has enjoyed a documented series of only
enthusiast Aston Martin owner-collectors and AMOC members including
one of the shareholders of the Aston Martin company. Its ownership
and service history is impeccable.
This V8 Vantage has been well known to Autosport Designs, Inc.,
having been sold and serviced by us for many years. In 2009, during
one of its yearly service appointments with Autosport Designs, it
received an engine rebuild-conversion to 6.3 liter specification.
This was done under the ownership of Mr. J. Sinders, a previous
owner of Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. and within the consortium that
included David Richards. It is quite potent with approximately 500
HP and just as much torque! During the same service visit, the car
was converted to an original specification, factory 5-speed ZF
manual transmission. In 2013, a complete new interior was
contracted to trim expert Johann Merkhofer, where new leather was
utilized throughout, as was complete new carpeting to the cabin and
boot. A new upgraded stereo system with a McIntosh base unit was
installed, the suspension received a Harvey Bailey handling kit and
a set of new Aston/Ronal wheels were supplied and mounted on new
later V8 hubs.
This V8 Vantage has always been maintained, serviced and restored
when and where needed with the best intentions to keep it in
excellent condition throughout. It is superb in every way!
The V8 Vantage Flip Tail started the new era of the Aston supercar
and for a period of time was acclaimed the worlds fastest motorcar.
Extremely rare, it represents not only a wonderful piece of Aston
Martins hand manufactured history-production from Newport
Pagnell.
