Vehicle Description
It's not just that the 1966 Ford Mustang GT fastback is one of the
most desirable American classics around... It's that this one has
been expertly restored to be a terrific restomod. That means a
fresh fuel-injected stroker V8, an overdrive transmission, an A/C
interior, four-wheel disc brakes, and a stellar color combo that
makes this one of the most attractive icons you'll be able to get
your hands on.
Raven Black is one of the coolest ways to represent this American
icon. This dark glossy shine is the result of a solid investment in
a comprehensive restoration. The consignor has had the vehicle for
about six years, and in that time, big investments were made to
make this an all-around awesome machine. But it also helps to start
in the right place. This one shows all the right signs of being
born a true and desirable Mustang GT. So with a coupe at this level
of esteem, they made sure to have the best body panels before
laying down the black. All of this work was absolutely worth it.
After all, on the fastback body, this dark hue is the most
intimating way to distinguish your Mustang from the friendlier pony
cars out there. Plus, this one has all the right GT elements,
including the fog lights in the grille, the badges on the fender,
and trumpeted dual exhaust coming out the rear valance. We love how
the red triple-rocker stripe coordinates so well with the brake
calipers peeking out from behind the upgraded wheels. It gives just
the right hint at this icon's full restomod nature.
Just like the exterior, the interior has been given a solid
investment to be the perfect mixture of vintage and upgrades. Fresh
carpeting, taut panels, and the ultra-desirable premium "pony"
package seats really present nicely. And the full red package
coordinates with the exterior accenting for a thoughtful look
inside and out. There's a nice vintage feel in everything from the
wood/chrome steering wheel to the proper trunk mat. Even the
premium details are great, like the center console, working
courtesy lights, and fold-down rear seat. But if you look at the
knob-style radio, you'll see it's an upgrade to an AM/FM digital
tuner w/cassette. Those vents are blowing nice and cold with modern
R134a air conditioning. And when you take out the Holley EFI
controller, people will know to expect something special under the
hood.
The engine bay has a fresh and clean style, just like the rest of
the car. And the 289 callout on the bright air grabber is a great
classic piece...but it's really lying. After all, the blue Cobra
valve covers are your first sign of an upgrade, but they're not
your last. You're looking at a 347 cubic-inch stroker V8 that was
installed only about 500 miles ago. The upgrades don't stop there.
You also have aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, and a Holley
Sniper electronic fuel injection system. Cooling is even done right
with an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. This enhanced V8 loves to
fire up readily and make a terrific growl out of the X-pipe dual
exhaust w/Flowmasters. As you look underneath the car, you can see
a clean presentation that inspires all-around driving confidence. A
great all-around driver is what this one was made to be. The
four-speed automatic transmission gives you better ratios for
performance driving, and it also gives you overdrive comfort. And
there are other great upgrades, like the rack & pinion power
steering and drilled & slotted Wilwood four-wheel power disc
brakes.
