This 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe has that in-demand sleek shape,
and the classic flathead V8 is an upgraded unit that was also given
big investments to keep it running strong. Plus, this vintage coupe
also has just the right hints of upgrades to keep this vintage Ford
a cool cruiser for modern times.
This is a great year to own a classic American car. 1946 was Ford's
first car model year back in civilian production after WWII, and
this coupe does a great job of showcasing this return to style.
Gone are drab war colors, and so this one was painted a regal-like
blue some years ago. So it has the right aged-in look we often want
on a true classic like this. We particularly like the full red and
white pinstriping on this car. It combines with the paint to give
this significant American classic a full patriotic appearance. Of
course, the red wheels with whitewalls add to this, too! It has all
the classic pieces you love, like a bright chrome grille, chrome
bumpers, long hood ornament, and full-length trim. And there are
plenty of upgraded details, like the dual spotlights, chrome
headlight covers, rear fender skirts, and blue-dot taillights. And
the Midnight Moon name on the rear gives you a little Junior
Johnson moonshiner flair.
The first impression of the interior is pure classic style. The
gray on the seats is clean, complete, and has a classic pleat
pattern. This coordinates nicely with the door panels and
headliner. While this was based on a pre-war design, Ford was still
leading in interior style. So you'll slip behind the original-style
two-spoke wheel and gaze over the fashionable and symmetrical
dashboard that's a perfect piece of art deco. This is meant to be a
driver's classic, and so you have classic elements, like the
working heater. This is joined by the AM/FM/CD stereo w/USB input
for modern driving music.
The car earns its hot rod/moonshiner flair with a hotter V8 under
the hood. Ford fans know the 255 cubic-inch motor was the larger
one destined for premium Mercury cars. It gives you added pep
without losing the classic flathead V8 style. We're told this one
was recently rebuilt, and it has the feeling of a quality
investment in the way it fires up easily and runs smoothly. This is
built to also be a driver, and so they did upgrade the electrical
system to 12 volts and an alternator. The three-speed manual
transmission shifts easily with a newer clutch, and it all provides
good power for getting to the car shows with ease.
We all love the look of a classic coupe. It only gets better on one
that has the right history and worthwhile upgrades. Don't miss this
fun and patriotic Ford. Call now!
