This 1981 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler has been refinished in blue and fitted with a carbureted 360ci V8, which is paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Other modifications include black Corbeau bucket seats, a CB radio, a locking Tuffy console with a Kenwood stereo, a roll bar with a roof rack, aftermarket bumpers, a front winch, aftermarket lighting, and 17″ wheels with 35″ tires. The selling dealer acquired the truck in May 2021, and subsequent service included an inspection, a replacement oil pressure switch, and an oil change. This Scrambler is now offered by the selling dealer in California with a recent service record, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.

The Jeep has been refinished in blue with white hood graphics and black fender flares. A light bar has been added along the top of the windshield along with KC off-road lights mounted on either side of the windshield and atop the front bumper. Aftermarket bumpers, a rear roll bar with a roof rack, and a front bumper-mounted winch have also been installed.

Black 17″ XD-series wheels by KMC are wrapped in 35×12.5″ BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires, while the matching spare wheel is mounted to a swing-away carrier and wears an Iron Man All Country M/T tire. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The interior has been fitted with Corbeau bucket seats, and the selling dealer notes that the Corbeau seat belts are not anchored. A blue liner covers the floors, and additional equipment includes a Cobra CB radio, a Kenwood stereo mounted in the locking Tuffy center console, cupholders, and aftermarket rocker switches for the accessory lights. An inspection report in the gallery indicates that the driver’s power seat motor is noisy, the dome light is inoperable, and the turn signal switch does not self-cancel.

An 85-mph speedometer with inset auxiliary gauges is mounted in the center of the dash along with Equus voltage and oil-pressure gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 24k miles. True mileage is unknown.

A carbureted AMC 360ci V8 has been installed and is fitted with an Edelbrock intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke, and finned valve covers. The oil was changed by Bay Service Automotive of Monterey, California, in May 2021, at which time the oil-pressure switch was replaced and it was noted that the right-side tailpipe hits the body and rattles when turning.

Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range twin-stick transfer case. Rust is noted on underbody components, and additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.
