About 400 miles on new performance engine.
I have over $18,000.00 in the engine, transmission, front suspension and miscellaneous parts.
You may think $25,000. is high but if you buy a corvette for $18,000.00 or less your going to put 5G or more into it with new breaks, engine and transmission. Low mile or high the seals and plastic parts dry up and become brittle and need to be replaced. The transmission will need to be replaced or rebuilt. A car setting will have more issues than a car that is driven.
This car is ready to drive. It needs nothing.
I have owned this car for over 20+ years and before me my sister owned it. This car is 39 years young :) and looks great.
The 1982 Corvette is a beautiful car inside and out. The body style and interior have a look and style that attracts a lot of attention.
In 2019 I had some major modifications made. Why?
People ask why I didn't keep it original. Two reasons.
1. The ECM "Electronic Control Module " Died :( and you can't get them anymore. So anyone looking at a older corvette that has Cross Fire Fuel injection beware if the ECM dies your screwed and now have a very expensive lawn ornament. You can't get them new or used or refurbished. I looked for months and called dealers salvage yards auto part stores.
2. The original engine is a brick :( 200 HP... really sad :( :(
So in 2019 I had some major modifications made. The following list s only some of the items that are new.
. Green Mountain Gear Heads rebuilt the engine.
. Rebuild/New engine. V8 350 engine DYNO at 450 HP
. Everything on this engine is new with aluminum heads and aluminum Intake, tuned headers and exhaust, Starter, Alternator, everything on the engine is new. The only thing original on the engine is the block.
. New Holley Sniper 4-barrel EFI
. Transmission rebuilt by Barry's Transmission.
. New upgrade power steering box. The steering is pretty tight and responsive. To make it handle better you would need to upgrade to rack an pinion steering and go with a lower profile tires. It rides and handles like a 1982 Corvette.
. New Ken-Wood radio with blue tooth and hands-free phone.
. New gas shocks.
. Front end alignment by Dave's Automotive in Essex.
. Two sets of tops, Glass and solid white.
. The rims are beautiful and tires are like new.
. New rear and front break calipers a few years back.
. New fuel gauge sending unit.
. New battery.
NOTE: I have most of the original engine parts if you want them.
NOTE: I sprayed the frame and suspension with oil every couple of years to prevent rust.
So why am I looking to sell it now? I have too many toys and I don't use it enough. So it is time to let someone else enjoy it.
