The Ford Galaxie Skyliner was the second mass-produced retractable
hardtop convertible ever made, and the first to reach four and five
digit production numbers. This convertible hardtop was an
engineering marvel, and remarkable in its great reliability for the
pre-transistor era. Composed of 10 relays, 10 switches, 7 electric
motors, and 610 feet of wiring, the top can be raised or lowered in
40 seconds. Only 12,915 Skyliners were made in its three year
production run, and this particular Skyliner is immensely desirable
due to its many factory options, rare 352 ci. V8 engine, and
preservation in such impeccable condition.
