1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible For Sale - 6.2L LS3 Engine, 6 Speed,
Digital Gauges, Air LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1964
Pontiac GTO Convertible Resto-Mod In 1964, Pontiac revolutionized
the auto industry introducing the all-new GTO which today is
arguably the car that started the muscle car era. Pontiac Division
built the GTO to appeal to the younger generation interested in
performance and was a massive hit! The Pontiac sold more than
32,000 units that the first year, igniting competitors to introduce
their own muscle cars from 442s to GTXs, and an era of performance
never seen before. The first generation of the Pontiac GTO lasted
until 1967, and these cars continue to be valued collectibles. This
1964 Pontiac GTO convertible resto-mod is finished in the stunning
factory Silvermist Gray complemented by a black interior and black
convertible soft top. In place of the factory, 389ci Pontiac engine
is a fuel-injected 6.2L LS3 that produces 460hp and sends power to
a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Far more
power than the original 389ci with better reliability and
drivability thanks to modern fuel injection. The interior is mostly
how it left the factory except for the addition of Vintage air and
Dakota digital gauges that look like they could have been equipped
from the factory. Power front disc brakes and power steering were
added to help make this GTO the ultimate cruiser. Finishing the
stock style appearance is a set of period-correct Hurst mag wheels
and redline bias-ply tires. This GTO convertible is the best of
both worlds as it looks stock from the outside but has a modern
driveline that is more capable than what came from the factory!
