The Fairlane Sport Coupe is a handsome body style and this one in
bright red rolling on fancy wheels makes it even that much better.
Under the hood is a 306 crate motor attached to an overdrive
automatic. Only 300 miles since this car was restored.
EXTERIOR: Not only is it a looker but it has integrity too. The
body is very impressive. Appears to be original, dry clean metal.
It's straight from every angle, all the panels line up really well.
Door shut like a new car. It is smooth all along the bottoms, no
signs of rust or damage. Extra bright red paint is polished out
smooth and glossy from the rockers to the roof. The bumpers are
rechromed, the rest of the trim is good original. Jambs are painted
slick, new weatherstrips. Upfront the bumper has been rechromed,
the grill is in very good condition. It has the chrome spears on
top of each fender and a chrome grill on the front of the low rise
hood scoop. The moldings are very good. In back the bumper is
rechromed, the tail panel is good original. The door jambs are
painted slick like the car, weather strips have been replaced.
Great looking 16 inch custom wheels have Ford spinners and
performance tires.
INTERIOR: Wow, look at that beautiful red interior and it has
bucket seats with a center console. It's in excellent condition.
Down on the floor the carpets have been replaced. The seats have
been reupholstered, it has the cool silver piping. The center
console is in very good condition. There are Ford seat belts in
front. The door panels are new reproduction. All the metal trim in
the car is painted as slick as the outside. The instrument panel is
very clean, nothing's cracked. The lenses, gauges, knobs, steering
wheel are all very nice. Overhead is a really nice white headliner
and visors, working dome light.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Oh boy, it has a 306 DSS Bullet short block
with Ford Racing aluminum heads. On top is a polished aluminum
intake with a Holley Sniper fuel injection. Dressed up with some
finned aluminum valve covers and a Ford Racing air cleaner. Looks
like a new electronic distributor with red plug wires. The front of
the motor has a new alternator, aluminum pulleys and a factory
power steering unit. It runs cool with an aluminum radiator, new
fan hoses, shroud and an aluminum water pump. The engine bay is
very clean metal painted semi gloss black. The bottom of the hood
is gloss red. It has premium stainless braided dipsticks for the
motor and the trans.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid original metal in the trunk. I don't
see any splices in the quarters which tells me they are original.
The trunk floor, lid and jamb are gloss red. New mat and weather
strip.
UNDERSIDE: The front end was completely rebuilt- ball joints,
shocks, bushings, steering linkages etc. Rear suspensions has new
springs, bushings and shocks. The brake system has been completely
rebuilt, it has a disc conversion in front, new brake hoses and
lines. The e-brake is hooked up. New dual exhaust system going all
the way out the back, tailpipes are tucked up under the car with
turn down tips. Fuel system is replaced including the tank, straps,
fuel pump and high pressure line compatible for the fuel injection
system. Looking up at the motor it is new, has a new starter. The
trans is a rebuilt. It's an AOD, Ford's overdrive automatic.
Original 3.00: ratio rear end. The floors are super clean, frame
rails, lower quarters and rockers are dry metal and then painted
red oxide primer.
This is a spicy little package. Starting with a clean car is was
given some spunk with the upgraded motor, trans and brakes. Bright
red in and out will turn some heads too!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
