599 SA Aperta finished in Corsa Red over a two-tone Nero and Red
leather interior showing just 608 miles on the odometer! This car
is in pristine condition, having been imported from Canada by
Ferrari Maserati of Long Island with the Tach converted to MPH
through the Ferrari Dealer to meet US Highway Safety
Specifications. This car comes with all documents, manuals, and
service records and has resided under the careful care of a private
collector in FL since 2013.
Announced at the Paris International Motor Show in 2010 and looking
to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Pininfarina, Ferrari decided
to produce just 80 examples of a convertible version of their 599
GTB. Dubbed the SA Aperta, this was a model reserved for the marque
rsquo;s best clients. All eighty cars were pre-sold by the time the
car was announced publicly. At its heart was the 6.0-liter V-12
engine sourced from the 599 GTO, capable of producing 661 bhp,
which was at the time Ferrari rsquo;s most powerful street engine
offered to date. Even though the car shares many of the components
of the hardcore 599 GTO, it is slightly softer and more comfortable
to drive, making it more liveable on long journeys and giving it a
friendlier personality overall ndash; ideal in the drop-top
companion to the 599 GTO. The windshield was given a steeper rake,
and two aerodynamic fins were crafted behind the roll bars,
recalling the flying buttresses on the standard 599 GTB. Both the
suspension and the exhaust were tuned to be slightly less
aggressive than the 599XX and 599 GTO, making it all the more
comfortable for long-distance touring.
Arguably the prettiest of the 599 family of Ferrari rsquo;s, the SA
Aperta #39;s are truly excellent cars, beloved by their owners for
their road manners and usability without compromising performance.
A wonderful addition to any collection of Ferraris or modern
exotics, this extremely low-mileage example is presented in
immaculate condition in a truly classic color scheme that perfectly
suits the subtler personality of the SA Aperta.
