Vehicle Description
1988 BMW 535i is a mildly modified example from the final year of
E28 sedan production which is powered by a 3.5 liter inline-six
paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This car has had mechanical
maintenance over the last six and a half years along with several
cosmetic, interior, and suspension upgrades(all records pictured).
An older repaint in white covers the original Cirrusblau Metallic
and includes all four door jambs, though its engine bay and trunk
were not painted. The finish is glossy in some areas but has faded
and chipped in others(all chips pictured). An Audi 4000 spoiler has
been mounted to the trunk lid, and both roundel badges are new.
Refurbished 178? BBS two-piece Style 5 wheels wear mirror-polished
lips, baked-on finishes, freshened and correctly torqued hardware,
new OEM center caps, and BFG Advantage All Season sport tires. A
set of large rally lights has been added to the US-market front
bumper and wired in with a relay, augmenting a new turn signal lens
and brake light switch. Custom hand-stitched upholstery covers the
front Comfort seats, rear bench, dashboard, shift boot, and front
arm rests. All fits tightly and shows little wear setting off
presentable door panels that are free of sagging or delamination
and are equipped with new door handles A used instrument cluster
was installed alongside all the other modifications and is likely
to be the third fitted to the car, so its actual mileage remains
unknown. A modern head unit with USB input has replaced the
original stereo and powers uncovered aftermarket speakers in the
front kick panels. Bosch Motronic fuel injection draws from a fresh
fuel tank via replacement external and in-tank fuel pumps with a
new relay and pressure regulator. Both the clutch master and slave
cylinders were replaced along with fresh hydraulic hoses within the
last year. New driveline also installed within the last year. This
car loves to be driven and is especially exceptional on long
highway drives.
