Vehicle Description
This 1969 Chevrolet C10 stepside pickup has an enhanced sporty
attitude on the outside, and it has the enhanced small block power
to back it up, too. But when you get to enjoy it all from a
leather-lined A/C interior, you start to realize the real appeal
here is more than just pure power.
This stepside's beefy lines and curved rear fenders represent both
muscular and distinct attitudes in one glance. And that's the right
tone for this one. The red paint is an authoritative color, and it
was resprayed within the last few years to make sure it's vibrant.
The large dual exhaust tips, shaved trim, and smoother front end
add to the sporty appeal. Plus, those American racing torque thrust
wheels staggered at 17/18 inches front/rear draw attention to the
meaty rear rubber and lowered stance. And the racing stripes on the
hood are a thoughtful touch that draws added attention to the cowl
hood. While the whole package is aggressive, you'll also love the
quality in the fundamentals, like the shine that shows investment
in bumpers, headlights, and taillights. The oak bed floor is a
worthwhile detail that also shows this remains a true classic, and
a diamond plate toolbox is ideal to neatly and securely store your
gear.
Just like the exterior, the interior is a tasteful mix of red and
black. But where the outside is aggressive, the inside is pure
comfort. It starts with a pair of late-model GM bucket seats. They
have terrific bolstering, finished in supple leather, and yours
even power adjusts to the ideal position. This is a total quality
build that has all the best conveniences like a cold-blowing R-134a
air conditioning, a cup holder center console, shoulder seatbelts,
and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo that includes Bluetooth and Aux input
for the most modern music players. You'll also appreciate the
little things, like newer carpeting, window regulators, and
weather-stripping. It's built to be a drive with a wood and chrome
sports steering wheel, a tilt column, and a B&M floor shifter.
Plus, the way the upgraded digital gauges glow red to coordinate
with the full package is just another one of this truck's extra
thoughtful touches.
Under the hood is the solid look of well-built power. The specs
sheet we have been given on this includes the 350 cubic inch V8
bored over to 355ci total. The motor has been enhanced and
fortified with hypereutectic pistons (9.4:1 compression), an Eagle
crank, Eagle rods, 601 HO heads, long slot rockers, and a Crane
10007 flat tappet camshaft. It inhales deeply with a Holley
four-barrel carburetor and Holley Street Dominator intake, and it
exhales with power and authority as shorty headers feed a 3-inch
dual exhaust w/Magnaflow mufflers (there's also Pypes electric
cutouts. When you really want to bring the thunder.) It has all the
right supporting components, too, like an electronic ignition,
serpentine belt system, and an HD aluminum radiator with electric
fan. The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit
that also has a B&M 200o stall. It feeds a PEM Racing
driveshaft on its way to the 12-bolt rear end. A custom like this
is meant to be driven, and so you've got great anytime features
like power steering, power brakes w/front discs, and the grip of
modern sport tires.
