For Sale: 1968 MG CGT in Washington, District Of Columbia

Vehicle Description

1968 MGC-GT coupe, S/N GCD1U1623G, British Racing Green with black leatherette, 145 horsepower 2.9 litre in-line 6 cylinder engine with twin SU carburetors, 4 speed syncromesh manual transmission, front disc brakes, 15 inch wire wheels with knock-off hubs, fresh major servicing and sorting at Ken McCay's Boston Sportscar Company with supporting documentation and a clear safety inspection.

Approximately 4500 MGC GTs were built between late 1967-1969.  This 1968 MGC GT is one of only 534 LHD North American spec examples built for 1968. The 1968 models are desirable for their low back seats and no side reflectors that were introduced the following year.

This stunning example comes with a British Heritage Certificate certifying it as a numbers matching example with correct options, resprayed original BRG color and new, original style interior and carpeting. Over $37,000.00 in invoices come with this car for work done in 2020 with supporting documentation.

Among the outstanding features of this rare British touring/sports car are:
32,500 original documented miles.  The entire drivetrain has been restored including:
new brakes (disassembled and rebuilt, front and back), fuel system, carbs, rear leaf springs, steering rack, sway bar, bushings, new 72 spoke wire wheels and 185/70 15 Vredenstein tires, RetroSound/Kenwood Bluetooth radio made to look like the original, new fuel pump, chrome headers, stainless steel exhaust, K & N carb filters,  many new external chrome body parts (including bumpers), dual horns, electronic ignition. Comes with spare tire and a handy glove compartment manual for easy reference as well as a comprehensive service manual.  Beautiful Nardi steering wheel.

This car wants for nothing. The only item is the tach (like many cars of this era) does not mesh well with the electronic ignition. It starts out reading fine at idle but does not read accurately over the range. Oil pressure and water temp are outstanding. The current new owner got in the car after purchasing it and drove 450 miles to its new home without any issues.
