1968 Ford Mustang Fastback Resto-Mod For Sale - 421ci Stroker
Engine, 5-Speed Manual LMC is very proud to offer for sale this
1968 Ford Mustang Resto-Mod Ford introduced the Fastback version of
the popular Mustang in August 1964. It traded conventional trunk
space for increased interior volume and gave the car lines similar
to the Corvette and some European sports cars. The car was received
with praise as it introduced a racing disposition to the Mustang
line and even served as the basis for Carroll Shelby to build his
GT350s. Today, Fastback Mustang's serve as a very popular platform
for Hot Rodders to improve on the performance and styling offered
from the factory. This is a 1968 Ford Mustang that has been
retrofitted to look like a 67' GT500 with addition of the Shelby
front fascia, hood, quarter scoops, rear valance and emblems.
Painted in Raven Black with two factory style Maroon stripes, this
mustang looks sinister! Under the hood is a 421ci stroker that
produces approximately 500hp sending power through a 5-speed manual
transmission and 9-inch differential with aluminum center section,
Detroit locker and 31 spline axles. Braking duties are handled by
Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners. Handling has been far
upgraded over stock with coilovers in front and leaf springs in the
rear with the addition of traction bars. A larger sway bar was
added in the front to help reduce body roll. Finishing the look and
performance package, are a set of 17inch Halibrand style wheels
wrapped in Kuhmo Ecsta tires. This resto-mod is a tastefully
modified example ready to be driven on a nice summer day!
