Porsche fans as Type 951, the 944-based Turbo debuted for 1985 and
drastically upped performance with nearly 60 additional horsepower
on tap from the silky smooth 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine.
Clutch and gearbox upgrades handled the extra power and other
upgrades applied to the 944 Turbo included bigger anti-roll bars,
4-piston brake calipers, a smoother front end and bigger rear
spoiler. Methodically developed and improved, power output was
raised to 250 horsepower with the Turbo S for 1988 and for 1989-91
on the 944 Turbo. Today, these cars were, and remain, massive
performers with thrilling acceleration, nimble handling,
anchor-like 4-piston disc ventilated disc brakes, and a
factory-advertised top speed of 162 mph. Production was relatively
low for the 944 Turbo and its variants, with just 1,385 exported
the United States for the 1989 model year.Purchased by the current
owner from Ohio five years ago, this 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo is a
high-quality survivor with 109,803 actual miles. Retaining its
complete original India red exterior paint finish, this
highly-optioned Porsche is complemented by a rare Light Grey
interior featuring optional Code 946 leather front seats. The
potent 2.5-liter engine, renowned for smoothness and low-end
torque, delivers 250 factory-rated horsepower in concert with a
5-speed manual transaxle including an optional Code 220
limited-slip differential. Other choice factory-fitted options

Code 454 cruise control, the Code 490 High-Fi sound system with
Code 494 additional amplifier, a Code 533 anti-theft system, Code
573 air conditioning, Code 493 Anti-Lock (ABS) brakes, and the Code
650 removable sunroof. Joining the car for sale is service records
