For Sale: 1967 Oldsmobile 442 in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

A real-deal 1967 Oldsmobile 442 coupe is always going to be a fun muscle car. But the appeal here is also about a hardtop with a stylish color combo, comfy bucket seat interior, and smooth automatic trans. Basically, you have the big V8 rumble you love and the easy cruising nature that makes it fun to take everywhere.

This was the year to have an aggressive-looking Olds. The extra-wide headlights, stacked taillights, and well-creased profile made this imposing from any angle. This one even has some extra-sporty details, like the hood pins, louvered hood, and quad exhaust tips. But a proper Oldsmobile also has a hint of upper-class style. That's why you have the extras here like the vinyl top and full-length pinstriping that really shows off the curve of the rear fender. And it seems like no one was better at integrating bumpers into their design than the 1960s Oldsmobiles. This 442 was upgraded to an aggressive red later in life. Today it has the right mix of good gloss and a driver-ready aged-in style you want on a cruiser. Plus, another great Olds touch was the color-matched Super Stock III wheel package.

The white interior is a cool/premium touch that was an upgrade later in life. They have cool 442 logos on the front seatbacks. So this is a good reason to roll down all the windows on this pillarless hardtop and let everyone get a good look inside. Nice details, including the wood-like trim and working courtesy lights show off the interior. There are even provisions for an upgraded radio and R134a air conditioning (they will need servicing to function again.) But more than just look good, this coupe was made to be enjoyed. After all, the upholstery may be white, but high-traffic areas like the carpeting are done in black - so it's always ready to hop in and go for a drive. Bucket seats, a center console, and a sport steering wheel on a tilt column make this a driver-oriented car. And are you looking for the tach? It's on the hood for a cool head-up display.

Under the hood is the big 400 cubic-inch V8. It looks impressive with its classic 442 air grabber, bright 442 valve covers, and Oldsmobile's classic golden block. The big V8 inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with a sweet tune from the dual exhaust w/Hooker mufflers. The rear end is a strong setup with a 12-bolt diff, boxed arms, and a sway bar. While the package is stout, it's also built to be an all-around cruiser. The Jetaway automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and Goodyear touring tires make it easy to enjoy the drive.

The sale comes with good docs, including a reproduction window sticker, owner's manual, service manuals, and restoration photos. This is elegance and power in a well-priced vintage package. So don't miss this 442. Call now!
