Vehicle Description
2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK350 Convertible
The acronym CLK means Coupe Liecht Kurtz or Coupe Light Kurz which
is the German word for short. This literally translates and shows
up as a small coupe which is nimble short (2 door) and lightweight
Kurtz or Kurz is a surname first found in Switzerland. It is mainly
a German and Jewish (Ashkenazic/Yiddish) surname, meaning someone
who is short in height.
For consignment a 2006 CLK350. This sports convertible presents in
Pewter Gray and has a black canvas convertible top, rounded
European aero design, and a beautifully appointed and comfortable
interior.
Exterior
Nearly seamless in its design with integrated round headlights
which melt right into the front quarters and border the hood and
grille which has some shiny chrome bars within an oval opening. The
tri-pointed star is very apparent on the center of this grille, and
a body matching integrated bumper all leads the way for this nimble
car. Black canvas top and a very nicely raked rearward windscreen
frame, and it works flawlessly. On either side a rounded body
matching pewter gray trim spear if you will which continues towards
the rear of the car. Speaking of which we can say nice as in this
case with the integrated taillights, trunk lid and rear seamless
bumper. 17 inch alloy wheels spice up the corners and shine like
new, never being curbed.
Interior
For the inside a nice mixture of black leather, molded plastic and
vinyl along with a peppering of wood applique accenting is noted in
the doors and center console. Comfy buckets are in front and a 2
plus 2 bench is in back. These are all in black pristine leather
which appear in like new condition. This undulating design carries
through to the dash where instruments are clearly present under the
semicircular dash top and matching circumference steering wheel
also covered in leather. Black carpeting floods the floors, and
this car is very clean and well kept.
Drivetrain
Under the hood hidden within the confines of a clean engine bay is
a completely covered 3.5 liter V6 engine. This has EFI and a
7-speed automatic transmission on back, with a 2.82 final drive
axle in the rear.
Undercarriage
Some very light surface rust is showing up here and there but it is
all definitely unremarkable. Ground effects per se with the floor
pans which are a nice factory black and no rust seen anywhere on
these. Independent McPherson strut suspension is upfront, and
independent coil sprung suspension on back. Power disc brakes are
on all 4 corners.
Drive-Ability
I climbed in and breathed in the personality of this consigner who
I had the pleasure of knowing personally. Sometimes feisty, always
ready for whatever, and one could expect a stellar performance from
this individual when they were put to the task at hand. This car
performed much the same, although in the end was much more
malleable than the owner! An overall excellent car.
