Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1990 BMW E30 316i Baur
convertible. This E30 is as nice of an example as you will find; it
was recently imported from Germany where it was with a long-term
collector / BMW dealer. Finished in Brilliant Red over black
interior with plaid sport seats. Currently showing 155,000 KM (or
about 96,000 miles), although it could pass for a car with half of
that mileage.
The Baur conversion offers a unique convertible / targa roof that
can be used in multiple configurations - we've seen some earlier
U.S. market Baur E30s but finding a late, plastic bumper example is
quite rare. This E30 is powered by a smooth-running M40 engine
mated to a five-speed manual transmission. A service sticker in the
nicely-detailed engine compartment indicates a 2019 timing belt
service was completed. Paint quality is very nice, no corrosion
issues, interior looks nearly new with an excellent dash.
This example is an E30 is its purest form - no power steering and
no A/C but optioned with sport seats, basketweave wheels and
adjustable headlights. Offered on a clean and clear Georgia title
with import documentation and original German title along with an
original sales brochure, books and tools. A must have for a BMW
collector and a car that would certainly gather a crowd at any
German car show.
