Released for 2018, the limited-edition CS was praised as the quickest, most powerful, and lightest version of the F80-generation M3. It weighed 110 pounds less than the regular-production model thanks in part to a long list of carbon fiber parts (including the roof panel), and its 6-cylinder engine received a generous bump in power. BMW capped CS production at 1,200 units; approximately 550 of those were sent to the United States. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-6, which produces 453 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque when left stock. The modifications increase those numbers to 509 and 463, respectively, according to a dyno sheet pictured in the gallery. The engine spins the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
