1951 Ford F-1 Pickup. DGT8021. VIN. FIR1KC18021. This one-family
owned Ford pickup was purchased new by the grandfather. It is
finished in white with pearl blue accents and polished oak wood bed
floor. It is powered by a 5.0 (302 cu in) High Output V8 from a
1989 Mustang, Hi-rise aluminum manifold and Edelbrock carburetor,
M/T aluminum valve covers, braided hoses, Electric fuel pump,
Hi-flow oil pump, Short throw headers, upgraded stainless steel
radiator shroud and electric fan.C-4 automatic transmission. Power
steering installed retaining the original steering column. It rides
on modular aluminum wheels and white letter radial tires. The
interior features blue diamond truck cloth. Bench seat. Tachometer.
This truck had a B&M shifter that did not work well at all so
we replaced it with a push button floor shifter. Joe, at Old School
Garage, did the service and safety check so it's all ready to go.
We found the steering box to have more play in it than I wanted so
that got replaced with a brand new steering box. We also had
Frank's upholstery here in Burlington install new carpet and a boot
around the shift lever so that's all sealed up nicely now. Andrew
has a windshield on order to replace the existing one. We just
wanted it better and also the wing window glass.
