22,500 actual miles!! Same owner since 1977, it had 14,703 miles at
that time. Mint original body, mint original interior, crystal
clear original glass, the spare has never been used! Great options
and colors. A car like this rarely is found with low miles, it's
too desirable to let sit around. Thus is a very rare opportunity to
own one of the lowest mile examples of Americas most popular
car.
EXTERIOR: The body is pristine, I don't see any signs of damage or
rust. It is absolutely straight and smooth everywhere. The body
panels lineup precisely. It had a one time exterior repaint, the
jambs are still original. Repainted over 30 years ago and it is
cracking in places, outside on a sunny day it presents itself
beautifully. It features a louvered Sprint hood with working turn
signals. The original bumpers have some light scratches but over
all the trim is in really nice shape. Door handles, remote mirror
and vent window frames have excellent chrome. It has the original
windshield which is still crystal clear. The windows roll up
smoothly. The power convertible top is still bright white, the
plastic window is yellowed. The top frame is excellent original
condition. The original wire wheel hubcaps are excellent and have
red spinners. The radial tires have been replaced. Door jambs have
the original paint and the original weather strips which are in
very good shape.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting in the car right now and it's about as close
to new as you'll find and it is claimed to be all original
condition. In front of me the lenses, gauges, chrome trim, levers,
vents, steering wheel and dash pad are mint. It has the deluxe
center console, not beat up or scratched. The light works in the
"garage door" compartment. Original AM radio still works, seatbelt
warning light works. The upholstery and door panels are practically
new looking. Excellent carpet and pony floor mats, original
seatbelts are mint. Nothing to apologize for, all the bits and
pieces are mint.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely original. The motor has never been
out, it still has it's original identification tag which is rare.
The engine bay is clean original metal. There are still original
paper stickers from the factory on the firewall. It appears to be
all original, there's a small spray paint touch up on the motor.
The engine bay is clean, square metal. There is a piece of tape on
the inner fender that goes under the front fender, I'm sure it's
been there since the car was built. The little bits and pieces like
wire loom clamps are still in place. It features factory air
conditioning and power steering. Original and clean looking!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Being the car nerd that I am, I'm in love with
this trunk compartment. It is all original! The metal is pristine
and the original red paint looks like new. The original mat has the
insulation on the back which is much different than the cheap
reproductions. It still has the paper on top of the gas tank. The
tail light housings, wiring and well liner still look like new. Get
this- the spare has never been used. It still has crayon markings
and nubs on the tread! The original Jack is there too. The paint on
the bottom of the trunk lid is original and sticker is still in
tact. Original jamb and weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Pristine original metal, it's dry as a chalkboard. The
seams, pinchwelds, lower inner quarters are spotless. It still has
the rubber drain plugs. Original red overspray from the factory is
still showing. It has a correct exhaust system. The components are
original and proper.
We have a copy of the 1972 title in the 2nd owner's name and it's
signed over in 1977 with 14,000 miles to the gentleman we purchased
it from. We have warranty card with original owner's name and an
owner's manual. Also documented with a Marti Report. I can find you
a big ugly 4 door with low miles, don't ever think I'll find
another red Mustang convertible from the 60s with 22,500 actual
miles. This is your one and only chance!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
