2005 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
The origin of the Thunderbird symbol derives from the ancient
Mississippian culture of the Mound Builders of North America and
were major elements in the Southeastern Ceremonial Complex of
American prehistory (S.E.C.C.). The enemy of the Thunderbird was
the Underwater Panther, a sea monster from the Underworld.
For consignment a 2005 Thunderbird 50th Anniversary edition, while
not a limited edition car it is still badged as a 50th Anniversary
model, which presents in very good condition. 75K actual miles
clocked and a factory hardtop and cart come with the car. Always
garaged and carefully maintained with a wonderfully contrasting
Torch red interior and black interior.
Exterior
Original Evening Black covers the exterior of the car, and the
extra fiberglass hardtop. A convertible top is attached to this
car, and the mechanism performs fast on the top down and top up
functions and being powered it's a breeze. The convertible top
presents in good condition, with no rips or tears. Panels are good,
and gaps are consistent. Polished chrome 17" wheels are noted all
around and are wrapped in black wall rubber.
Interior
Two tone Torch Red and black leather cover the buckets which show
well with gently used patina. Center console, dash steering wheel
are all functioning well. Power locks, power seats, power windows,
cruise control, heated seats, and climate controls are seen. An
AM/FM/6CD player is a factory installed option within this original
dash along with faux wood burl panels on the console for an elegant
touch. Headliner and carpet are clean and stain free.
Drivetrain
A 3.9 Liter D.O.H.C. V8 is seen in a very clean engine bay. This is
fed with electronic fuel injection and drives a 5-speed automatic
SelectShift transmission. The rear axle weighs in with a 3.58
ratio.
Undercarriage
Save for some surface rust on the exhaust, and some scratching from
bottoming out on the frame, all is very well underneath, with
structure sound, and all rust free except noted. 4-wheel power disc
brakes, and front and rear independent suspension can be seen and
in all clean condition.
Drivability
A quick starter, good handler and excellent braker. This black
beauty passed all the test track testing with flying colors. A
veritable treasure trove of retro in a modern wrapper.
From 2005 a classic inspired but newly designed T-Bird, throwing us
back to the two seat days, convertible top and hardtop, and nice
leather with plenty of convenience options added to bring you into
the 21st century.
