Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1979 BMW E24 635CSi. Euro,
slicktop, high compression 3.5, dogleg five-speed, low miles and
green! This car checks all of the right boxes. This E24 was an
Italian-market car that was recently imported after long-term
ownership (the original owner kept the car until 2006 and the
second owner through 2020). It currently shows 111,818 km (or
69,480 miles) which are believed to be original. One bare-metal
repaint in the correct and stunning shade of Tourmaline Green.
Before export the selling dealer refreshed the brakes and
suspension. Paint quality is very nice over a straight and
corrosion-free body - likewise the underside is in excellent
condition with no evidence of rust or previous repair. The interior
remains in beautiful original condition with an excellent dash.
16-inch BBS wheels have been refinished and are wearing brand new
Pirelli P7 tires.
While the U.S. market E24 was a fine car, it was a bit chunky in
both appearance and performance. In contrast this early Euro
example showcases Paul Bracq's true design intentions with
sprightly performance to back up the good looks. We are fond of the
early interior details, too, where you can see the E9 roots shining
through. The M90 engine was not offered in the U.S. market and
featured larger displacement, higher compression and fewer emission
controls. It is fed by Bosch L-jetronic fuel injection and was
rated at a respectable 215 hp and 224 lb/ft - a big bump over the
U.S. examples. This 635CSi is offered on a current Georgia
registration and includes import documentation, original Italian
title, service books and tools.
