Classic Pickups have definitely shown their value in the collector
car marketplace, in particular the late 60's to late 80's
Chevrolets. These trucks have become very sought after with
National shows and clubs entirely dedicated to their preservation.
This clean 74 Cheyenne Super C10 long bed belongs to the third
generation of Square bodies and is a beautiful example of one of
these pickups. It is among the top trim levels available and is a
fully restored truck. It has been a Texas truck its entire life and
currently resides with its 2nd owner. That being said, it might as
well be a 1 owner vehicle because the current owner purchased it
from a friend just 6 months or so after it was originally sold from
the dealership. So it is clear the truck has been well maintained
and cherished since new. It has had a frame off restoration and is
in exceptional condition. It is entirely rust free and was
repainted with 2 stage in its original Green and White color
combination. All of the trim pieces and chrome is in great shape
with a great looking chrome grill and new bumpers in front and
rear. The tinted glass, lights and lenses are all in great shape as
well. The rear bed of the truck has a Black Rhino liner to keep it
protected for many years in the future and also has the chrome bed
rails and chrome tailgate topper. The truck is now sporting a nice
set of 17 inch polished aluminum Chip Foose wheels with Michelin
tires.
Turning those tires is the original numbers matching 454 V8 motor
that was rebuilt around 10 years ago. It has had less than 10,000
miles put on it since then and was modified with an RV cam, dual
electric fans, Holley valve covers, headers, and dual exhaust. It
was also bored .30 over and runs great. It is paired with it's
original 3 speed automatic transmission with shift kit which sends
power back to the rear end which was replaced with a positrac unit.
It was ordered with factory AC but in addition power steering, and
power brakes have been added. During the restoration everything was
gone through and the brakes were redone with a Stainless Steel
brake company 4 wheel power disc brake system. Everything works
well and the truck runs great including the dual fuel tank set
up.
The interior has been fully restored just like the rest with new
Tan leather seat covers. The upholstery, carpet, headliner, dash,
and door panels all look like new. Everything has a very clean
stock appearance including the original style faux wood trim. All
of the gauges are working properly and the radio has been upgraded
with an aftermarket but very original looking set up. Behind the
bench seat a metal shelving unit is in place to store those items
you want to keep out of the elements.
This is a very nice pickup that has a lot going for it. These
classic trucks are very popular and this one is sure to be on the
road for many many years to come.
