The 3000 by Austin Healey is a British sports car built from
1959-1967....It is known as the "big-Healey". The 3-liter 3000 was
a highly successful car in which more than 90 Percent of them were
exported, mostly to North America. They won numerous rallies and
have been highly collectable for enthusiasts today. The final few
years of production were the most powerful by quite a percentage,
from 136 to 150 HP with a higher lift camshsaft. The inerior was
also re-done making for a much more comfortable ride. GR Auto
Gallery of Traverse City if very pleased to offer this very nice
driver condition car that comes out of long term ownership. The
seller purchased the car nearly 45 years ago in 1978 and has
enjoyed it for many miles. In 2018 the owner did a frame on
restoration of things that needed attention. At that time, he did
new brakes and linings, rebuilt the front end, did a carburetor
rebuild, wires and plugs. In addition, he also had the car
re-painted, did carpeting in the cabin and vinyl in the trunk area.
He also re-built the transmission and clutch along with a new top.
All of these things were done less than 3,000 miles ago. The car,
starts, runs, shifts and accelerates very good and sounds awesome
with the dual exhaust coming out the drivers side. This would be a
very good example to use and drive. Does not appear to leak or
smoke and seems to be very good mechanically.
