Vehicle Description
This car is an affordable classic that truly impresses. After all,
the 1954 Nash Ambassador Custom sedan is already a rare and
historic sight. So to find one this complete and nice is a treasure
that looks far more expensive than its value price.
A Nash is a rare sight today, especially the full-size flagship
like the Ambassador. But this one wants to impress for more than
just likely being the only one to be at a car show. So the golden
paint has a nice glow in the sunshine. It's part of a later respray
that makes sure this one knows how to grab attention. And the white
roof coordinates with the whitewall tires to give this a well-done
two-tone presentation. And there are terrific classic details, like
the Nash-Healey inspired front end, dual spotlights, and a
continental kit on the rear. But the most attractive part of all is
the thoroughly streamlined design. You not only have rear fender
skirts but also the front wheel wells are skirted, too. So you have
an ultra-smooth look to the well-fitting body panels. This design
also lets the full-length trim connect to the bumpers
uninterrupted. So it looks like you have a bright chrome ring
encircling the whole car.
The interior is absolutely an awesome place to share with vintage
car lovers, and since this is a full-size sedan, there's plenty of
room for everyone. It appears highly original, so you'll love
details, like the artful door trim. And the plastic covering on the
seats looks like it has almost perfectly preserved what's believed
to be the factory upholstery! Not only is this one well-maintained,
but there are also some terrific details, including rear seat grab
straps and the transmission instruction still on the sun visor. The
dash is one of the most detailed symmetrical designs ever. You'll
love the working pieces like the speedometer and AM radio. Plus,
since Kelvinator appliances were in the Nash family in the 1950s,
this is a pivotal year. This was the first time an integrated air
conditioning system was a compact and integrated part of the car.
So it's great to have classic Weather Eye controls still the center
focal point of the car today (most other components will need to be
added if you want to return the A/C.) It all makes for a time
capsule kind of atmosphere that you'll love to show off and tell
stories.
The highly correct and classic presentation continues under the
hood. The 262 cubic-inch inline-six is the numbers-matching motor,
and it has the feeling of correctness, right down to the Jetfire
tag on the head. But looking nostalgic doesn't mean missing out on
service. We have maintenance records, and the way this one fires up
and runs reaffirms a history of proper care. Plus, you have a
Hydramatic automatic transmission and power steering to keep this
classic a nice cruiser.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, maintenance
records, and service manuals. This is the cool classic 1950s
machine that knows how to get to the show and arrive in style.
That's a terrific package for this price, and so we know you want
to hurry up and call today!
