It's time to get your hands on a true collector's car. This 2003
Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible is one of the best specialty
machines of its day with a fully independent sport suspension and a
supercharged V8. More than just a proper snake-bitten performance
drop-top, this is loaded with all the best features and even a few
distinct upgrades. And when the car has such low mileage and is
this well preserved, you soon start to see that this full midnight
package is a rare opportunity at something quite special.
This was Ford's first time to ever add a supercharger to the
Mustang. It paved the way for the rest of the pony supercars, like
the current GT500. So it will always have a special place in
collector's hearts. That's why it's exciting to find such a
preserved example that has only averaged about 315 miles annually.
So not only is this one of less than 1,700 convertibles finished in
black, but it will be hard to find one that looks this clean and
sleek. The factory black strikes the right balance of being a
radiant and shining drop-top, and yet still has the right sinister
darkness to earn its Terminator nickname. More than just an
intimidating name, these were given the best aggressive details,
like the wide front facia, heat extractor hood, full-width rear
spoiler, and big/bright dual exhaust tips. And those upgraded
18-inch Cobra R wheels look awesome in gunmetal gray.
While the black roof looks terrific against the black paint, a car
like this was made to be shown with the top down. That's because
this is a very thoughtful total package. The graphite leather seats
have tasteful lighter gray inserts. And this two-tone reminds us of
the paint and wheel color combo of the exterior. Plus, this one has
been given some stylish upgrades, such as a roll bar that adds
strength and always looks sporty. It also comes with a contoured
Steeda tonneau to cover the rear seats and make this look like a
special sports roadster. Of course, it's not just the upgrades that
are impressive. With such few miles, this Mustang has received very
little set time. So the full interior feels more like a time
capsule. So the leather-wrapped sports steering wheel feels fresh,
and the special white-faced SVT gauges are crisp and clean. This is
loaded with all the best features, including a power driver's seat,
power windows, power convertible top, power locks, power mirrors,
tilt steering column, power steering, keyless entry/alarm, dual
airbags, and the premium AM/FM/CD changer stereo. And of course,
cold-blowing air conditioning is always desirable in a drop-top
classic.
The Terminator name has everything to do with the motor. This
ultra-low mileage car has its numbers-matching DOHC 4.6-liter V8 is
a 32-valve motor with the Special Vehicle Team (SVT) added an Eaton
supercharger on top. It's an absolutely clean presentation. So
people will be able to see the classic details like the SVT plaque
on the valve cover, as well as the bright Steeda accent upgrades.
This was rated at 390 horsepower from the factory, which makes for
an impressive power package. Plus, this one inhales a little deeper
with a Densecharger cold air intake, and it exhales with added
authority from the Bassani dual exhaust. You take full control of
this full power package thanks to the six-speed manual
transmission. And speaking of control, the SVT cars are the only
fourth-gen Mustangs that came from the factory with a fully
independent rear suspension. Plus, a massive four-wheel power disc
brake package, limited-slip rear end, and grippy ZR-rated tires
really make this a very special SVT car.
The sale comes complete with a car cover, and this preserved pony
car looks like it had tucked under this cover for most of its life
thus far. This is a benchmark Mustang kept in collector condition.
So if you love it when something special gets treated with the best
respect, call today!
