I fell in love with the colors. Then I was thrilled to hear it has
a 440, 4-speed with air, ps and pdb. When I inspected the quality
of the restoration I was impressed. This Road Runner just keeps
getting better. It was ground up restored less then 600 miles
ago.
EXTERIOR: The body is amazingly straight. Those are big wide panels
and I don't see a ripple. It's smooth everywhere, even allong the
bottoms, I could not find any blisters or rust. The metal flake
blue is all uniform, the clear coat is polished very smooth and
glossy. It looks deep like you could reach your arm into it. The
jambs are painted just as slick. New latches, weather strips,
grommets and sill plates. The black matte finish stripe is painted
on the hood very nicely. It has the Road Runner dust trail
reflective decal down each side. All of the chrome looks
new-bumpers, door handles, mirrors, correct antenna etc. All the
stainless is straight and polished. New vinyl top. New glass all
the way around. The grill is restored, rub strips on the bumper are
excellent, vent window frames and gasket are excellent etc. New 15
inch rallye wheels and BF Goodrich tires
INTERIOR: Gorgeous crisp white inside looks amazing against the
blue outside. Like new from carpet to the headliner. Down on the
floor it has new carpet, Road Runner mats and a new Hurst pistol
grip shifter. The cushions and upholstery were replaced. New seat
belts. New door panels, armrests, cranks and handles. The metal is
painted the same color white. The entire dash area is restored. New
instrument panel, rallye gauges with tachometer, knobs, steering
wheel, vents all look like new. New tight fitting headliner, dome
light works. The clock even works.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 383 was upgraded with a period correct 440
Magnum motor with the HP stamp. It runs smooth and strong. The
engine bay is straight, square metal all painted glossy blue
finish. It has the original fender tag. Features include factory
air, power steering and power brakes. All the components look new-
brake booster and master, alternator, wiper motor, washer bottle,
hood insulation etc. The "beep beep" horn works. The battery is
properly bolted down, new cables. It's show quality.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: New trunk floor is professionally welded in. The
entire trunk compartment is painted blue and given a smooth glossy,
clear coat finish. New weatherstrip, trunk mat, seat insulation.
The correct jack was just purchased.
UNDERSIDE: It is meticulously restored. The metal is all clean. The
frame rails, floors, inner 1/4s are solid. It was cleaned and
sealed with a light under coat. Tthe front end steering and
suspension was completely rebuilt and detailed. Rebuilt steering
box. The rear suspension is new- leaf springs, bushings and shocks.
New fuel system including the tank, straps, fuel lines and sending
unit. New dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. The brake
system has been completely rebuilt with new brake lines and hoses,
the e-brake cables are hooked up. It has disc in front. Looking up
at the motor it is spotless. The casting codes and dates are
correct. Starter looks new. The 833 4-speed looks fresh, new shift
linkage.
This is a beauty. Killer combination of colors and options. Only
600 miles on an impressive restoration! This one is exceptional,
the new owner should be very proud.
