Vehicle Description
We all know that interesting, low-batch, collaborative edition
modern Camaros, Mustangs, and Mopars are all the rage in the
motoring hobby right now - with unique styling, modern amenities,
and huge horsepower under the hood of all the prize prospects. But
dare we say that we might've found the coup de gras of these modern
marvels, aptly summarized in just one figure picked from its
mile-long list of attributes: 1K HP. Put aside for a moment the low
miles, the showroom-new condition, and even the legendary Don Yenko
S/C insignia that adorn this muscle car and try to ponder how a
race-ready, asphalt engulfing, dark blue 'Adonis' like this could
even be conceived for the buying public with these kinds of
performance figures. It seems the professional daredevils at
Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) had quite enough of the
horsepower wars the Big Three automakers have been embroiled in the
last few years, so they decided to hammer down the gauntlet and
preemptively end any future arguments with the production of this
2019 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS Yenko/SC Stage 2.
If you're not familiar with Don Yenko, then you probably don't know
much about high-performance Chevrolets, in which case you may not
possess the capacity to enjoy such a unique ride. Or, maybe letting
your hair down in a modern American muscle car with Chevrolet's
version of Carroll Shelby's name slapped on the side is exactly
what you need to kick start your heart. Either way, this dialed-in
Camaro instantly turns life up to 11. SVE and Chevrolet cosmically
paired up to make just 25 of these amazing limited-edition
specimens, the most powerful of which were made upon the 2SS Camaro
baseline with a $67K price tag for the Stage II set-up. Needing a
loud exterior package is a must if you're going to pay proper
homage to Yenko, so they slapped a slick Riverside Blue Metallic
finish on this 2SS coupe, along with custom Yenko/SC side stripes
and hood graphics that mimic the old Yenko sYc designs of yore. The
wild appearance package also brought a body-color painted carbon
fiber hood with a requisite scoop, a menacing custom grille, front
splinter, blade rear spoiler, a custom Yenko badge package, and
those killer 5-spoke wheels with sYc center caps and red Yenko
calipers tucked in just behind them. The total Yenko Stage II
package really turns the look of the already-aggressive 2SS up
another notch, and with only 821 actual miles, it still presents as
factory-fresh.
Inside are more exclusive elements to the SVE Yenko edition, and
you notice them the moment you open the door and see the special
Yenko/SC illuminated sill plates. The Jet Black interior with
special sYc embroidery is an exclusive package only for this
special edition masterpiece with the black leather and suede
perfectly complementing the dark blue exterior - featuring Recaro
seats emblazoned with sYc insignia in the headrests, and high-end
stitching and light gray inserts fund throughout the cabin. In
fact, the seats, steering wheel, shifter, door panels, and console
all receive coordinating stitching, and all the soft materials
inside are either plush leather or smooth suede that still feel,
look, and smell like a new car. A Yenko badge at the lower portion
of the 3-spoke, flat-bottomed wheel feels fat and grippy, and a
bespoke badge on the the dash names the car's sequential production
order (#8 out of 25), along with boasting its incredible
horsepower/torque figures. The comfortable driver's seat offers an
unobstructed view of the recessed gauge panel full of digital units
and the heads-up display projected onto the windshield, and the big
touchscreen in the middle manages all the media, navigation, and
back-up camera. The sculpted middle console is space age, as are
the turbine-like vents for the A/C system, and as you might expect,
this 2SS comes loaded with pretty much every single option and
amenity you could get in 2019 thanks to Chevy's Infotainment 3 Plus
package.
Under the hood, the snarling, custom-built 6.8-liter all-aluminum
LT-1 V8 is ready to play. The Stage II, race-quality engine
features a forged 4340 steel crankshaft and H-beam rods, forged
aluminum pistons, CNC ported high-flow LT4 cylinder heads with ARP
high-strength head and main studs. And yes, that's a big 'ol
honkin', custom high-output supercharger you see up front (painted
custom black per the order), featuring a 25% larger displacement
and 20% larger boost checking in with the Stage II custom
performance tune. Completely stock and unmodified since it left the
SVE research center, it starts instantly and runs beautifully
thanks to the wonders of a 10-rib dedicated belt-drive system, a
10% larger throttle body, and high-capacity fuel system. As you
might expect, the Camaro's soundtrack is downright erotic, with a
custom stainless-steel dual exhaust with dual-mode functions
providing beautifully violent cackles and baritone revs befitting
an engine of this caliber. Magnetic ride control and the LE1 Track
Performance Package stick the car to the pavement even with all
that added power, and one look underneath and you can see this car
has rarely been out. Power steering, Brembo 4-wheel disc brakes,
and modern Michelin performance tires on those exclusive 20-inch
forged wheels with black spokes, machined lips, and sYc centercaps
means this is a total package from top-to-bottom.
Complete with a ring binder of provenance including the original
window sticker, Dyno sheet, Yenko brochures, and original owner's
manuals, this Stage II Yenko/SC Camaro is the very definition of a
collectible car. And with that kind of pedigree and unmatched power
and performance, it's obvious that this future classic has all the
right features to be enjoyed today and the distinction to be
admired tomorrow. Call now!
