Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1971 Fiat 124 Spider. This
124 was sold new in Germany and later imported to the U.S. by a
service member upon his return to the states. It is in mostly
original and unmolested condition with one repaint to a driver
standard in its original red color. The interior is also original
and has held up well considering its age - there are some dash
cracks and a split seam on the drivers seat. A period Luisi
steering wheel is fitted; the original is included. The convertible
top is newer.
This car appears remarkably rust free with no evidence of corrosion
or previous repair underneath. The twin cam 1600 starts easily and
runs well - it's mated to a five-speed manual transmission that
shifts smoothly with no noted synchro issues. It has been with a
local owner since 2017 and during this time it has had new shocks,
tires, starter and a brake master cylinder. Owner's manual and
recent service records are included. We find these early 124s with
their petite chrome bumpers and lack of cumbersome emission
controls to be the purest expression of the model and this example
is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner.
