Vehicle Description
This 1985 Chevrolet Blazer K5 Silverado 4x4 represents everything
you like about a classic SUV. It has a tall off-road stance,
removable hardtop, and proper V8 power. But while this is both mean
and capable, there have also been the right investments that make
it a better all-around classic, including an A/C interior and an
overdrive transmission.
The blocky stance of the K5 gives it an instant authoritative look.
And that feeling only gets turned up a few notches with the matte
black paint. It's great for adding attitude, and texture also means
you won't be afraid to take this one off-road. In fact, you can
really see that this one will be quite capable when the pavement
ends. With big 20-inch wheels, General Grabber tires, and a
six-inch lift, this has the tall stance you want in a capable 4x4.
There's added style everywhere from the custom grille to the
color-matched hardtop. And there's extra substance with the steel
side steps and proper trailer hitch. It makes for a nice total
package that's thoughtful without being gentle.
The interior delivers exactly what you want in this kind of SUV.
You get new bucket seats up front, and the rear was borrowed from a
modern suburban for better seatbelts and comfort. And not only do
you have adult-sized room, but there's also space behind the seats
for all the gear. Plus, the tailgate with a power rear window means
you can sit on the back and enjoy everything from the campsite to
the ball game. This has a ton of great driver's features, like the
cup holder center console, tilt steering column, power windows,
power locks, cruise control, and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo in the
headliner. And your gauges are a cool Dakota Digital upgrade with
large speedo and tach. The removable hardtop is nice for open-air
adventures, and the cold-blowing air conditioning means it's easy
to enjoy this feature even in the summertime.
Under the hood is the 350 cubic-inch motor. The dark valve covers
and air grabber go with the exterior outside, but also just like
the exterior, you can see there's a lot of thoughtful investment
here. The motor was given a thorough service about 5k miles ago.
The small block also has added power with a Holley four-barrel
carburetor, headers, and an H-pipe dual exhaust with Borla
mufflers. You'll also notice the right supporting components, like
a Kwick performance serpentine belt kit, high output alternator,
Painless wiring, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. The
two-speed 4x4 transfer case is a recently rebuilt NP205 unit, and
it connects to newer driveshafts. So you have a stout one for
off-road work. And no matter where you go, you'll appreciate power
steering, power, front discs, and the recently rebuilt (about 2k
miles) 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with
highway-friendly overdrive.
Complete with build receipts, this is the full-size Blazer that has
been given the right investments for attitude, power, and comfort.
