Vehicle Description
This 1947 Ford Deluxe Sedan has been subtly upgraded to be a much
more fun machine. The sleeker style, upgraded interior, and
well-built V8 give this an all-around good cruiser attitude.
The copper color is the right tone to fit in with the 1940s crowd.
And the metallic element has a good shine to represent both the
post-war cheery optimism and a signal that this is a custom
machine. This mix of vintage and upgraded is also seen in the
details. You have the classic Ford curves and two-piece windshield.
Ford even did some nice details at the factory, like the
flush-mounted gas cap door and incorporating the door handles into
the full-length trim. But the color-matched bumpers, large dual
exhaust tips, and 16-inch torque thrust style wheels also are more
modern pieces that signal a more powerful machine.
The copper returns inside on the door tops and dash, and now it's
joined by a tasteful gray. The seat upholstery, door panels,
carpeting, and other fundamentals have been upgraded, but it's
nothing that looks out of place on a 1940s machine. Even the
classic thin steering wheel is still there and the AM radio is on
display. You'll only really notice the upgrades in the most
worthwhile places. For example, this now has air conditioning (it
will need servicing to blow fully cold again,) and the auxiliary
gauge trio helps you keep a better eye on what's going on under the
hood.
Flathead V8 power in 1947 was good, but today we all know there are
more powerful hearts out there. That's why this one has been
upgraded to Ford's mighty 302 cubic-inch V8. It also has a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, upgraded intakes, and an aluminum radiator.
It fires up nicely with a good V8 tune from the glasspack-style
dual exhaust, and aluminum radiator. This Ford was meant for
cruising, so it also has a three-speed automatic transmission,
power steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide modern
tires.
This is a head-turning classic with a ton of charisma. So when it's
also this affordable, you know you need to hurry if you want to
take it home. Call now!
