this car.
Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this beautiful 1960 Ford
Thunderbird convertible that is absolutely priced to sell. This car
is of the least expensive, if not the lowest priced, 1960
Thunderbird convertible on the market right now. It looks good and
runs well. Thunderbird convertibles of this era are getting harder
to come by and the market is on the rise. This specific T-bird is
finished in Red on Red Leather, A beautiful color combination that
compliments this car very well. This is a perfect example that's
all there; it just needs a few things to get it back to its former
glory. One could easily buy this car, work on some items, enjoy it,
and easily sell it down the road for more than the purchase price.
Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information in
this ad to get a true sense of this Thunderbird.
As a side note, this Ford is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand
pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from
owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the
vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Thunderbird, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Red exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the
photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth
finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The chrome and other
bright-work look very nice overall. The precious owner told us he
recently had the chrome redone. The wheels are in great shape with
no curb rash on the hubcaps. The Firestone tires have plenty 90%
tread left and are correctly sized 215/70R14. There are no major
imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the
photos. There are some spots that have been touched up and other
small blemishes around that are too faint to show up in the photos,
but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet
away. We have not this car up on a lift, but there is some rust
visible on the underside and we have the car priced according. As
one can see in the photos that car that convertible soft-top is old
and will need to be replaced.
Interior
The Red leather interior of this T-Bird looks fantastic. The seats
are in great condition and look just in person as they do in the
photos with just one spot of wear on the typical area on the
bolster where the drivers gets in and out. The carpet looks great
with no rips, or holes. The door panels look wonderful with no
cracks or splits. The dash is in excellent condition with no cracks
or sun fading. The interior chrome and bright work also looks very
nice. This car has never been smoked in; there is no aroma of
cigarettes whatsoever and no burn marks.
Mechanical
This Thunderbird appears to be in decent mechanical condition. The
engine starts right away every time and idles well. In the video
one can observe the car accelerating on the road, shifting through
gears, braking to a stop sign, and going around some corners.
Please note that it runs great, and the car performs quite nice
overall. The brakes are responsive and the pedal feels good, but
the brakes could be adjusted to brake straighter. Also, the engine
bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the
photos.
The horn works as do the headlights, brights, turn signals,
indicators, and dash gauges lights. The oil light and generator
light both work. The speedometer works, the temperature gauge
works, the fuel gauge appears to work, and even the clock runs. The
blower for the "Ford Magic Air System" heater works on both speeds.
The wipers work, but are a bit slow. This Thunderbird has plenty of
power. The power operation mechanism of the top needs to be
serviced and reconnected. The radio lights up, but does not play
sound. The car smokes a bit when first started, but clears up after
running for a minute as one can see in the video. We have driven
the car around our neighborhood briefly, but have not had the car
out on the open road and there may be some other bugs to be worked
out so we would encourage any perspective buyer to come look at the
car in person if possible. This car could be a pleasure to drive
with a bit of maintenance and work.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1960 Thunderbird has a ton of potential. The market
for the second gen Thunderbirds is very strong right now, and if
you are mechanically inclined and don't mind tinkering with a few
things this would be a great example to own. This Ford is a great
value and will only appreciate over time. We have the car priced
accordingly with its needs in mind. The odometer shows 19,582
miles, but we are not sure of the actual miles. Someone could
easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more
than the purchase price with a little effort.
Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call
