Rare….and highly prized!
1997 Camaro Super Sport SLP
This Camaro SS SLP is one of 124 red T-tops produced for the North American market. Also, 1997 marked the 30th anniversary of Camaro’s introduction as a modern classic muscle car.
After a 24 year absence, Chevrolet (in a joint venture with Street Legal Performance Engineering) brought back the high-performance Camaro SS nameplate and gave it serious power.
The SS SLP is powered by the LT1 350 cu 5.7 liter Sequential Fuel Injected V8 engine (generation II C4 Corvette). The base SLP package increased the Z28’s 285 hp to 305 hp. The SLP performance exhaust system (stainless steel “two on the left”) is said to have increased horsepower to 315 bp @ 5000 rpm and 342 ft lbs of torque @ 2400 rpm.
This one was ordered with all the best SLP power enhancements available. These SLP packages added over $6,500 to the original sticker:
This Camaro SS came with just about every option available:
All original and extremely clean top to bottom. It always been garaged and never driven in rain. It has a minor dent on the right quarter panel but other than that - this Camaro SS clearly has been treated with white gloves. The BF Goodrich g-Force Sport COMP -2 P275/40ZR17 tires have less than 10,000 miles.
Verification of all Street Legal Performance enhancements is identifiable by SLP placards under the hood and inside the driver’s door.
The sleek and fast Camaro SS was Chevrolet’s answer to the Mustang Cobra and GT. The Camaro SS SLP was top-dog at the time.
Don’t miss the opportunity to have this sizzling red hot car in your collection. It’s all original and it purrs and it roars!
This car is being sold out a collection by the owner’s brother. It has a clean Carfax report and a clean Ohio title. Additional pictures can be provided upon request.
