Vehicle Description
Glittering chrome and shimmering paint make this 1948 Cadillac
Series 62 Convertible a true luxury classic Caddy. But there's so
much more here. It's a true restomod where they updated and
upgraded the full build with big block power, four-wheel disc
brakes, a modern luxury A/C interior, and much more.
Let's start with the first impression. When you see the drop-top
coming down the road, the radiant glow of the navy blue lets you
know instantly that this is something special. It's the product of
a very professional application of a modern color and plenty of
shiny clearcoat. Of course, the mirror-like finish is not the
brightest thing on the car. These Caddys were known for acres of
chrome, and this one has been heavily invested in to make sure it's
all complete and has a smooth reflection. It's on everything,
including the bumpers with iconic Dagmars, wide intricate grille,
goddess hood ornament, side trim, wire wheels, and two-piece
windshield. But while this one is a gorgeous classic, it also lets
you know it's a true custom. The frenched headlights, shaved door
handles, deleted badging, and wide dual exhaust tips. Plus, the
blue convertible top with a glass rear window has a very
European-like sense of style against the glossy blue paint.
Another way this one signals it's something special is how you use
the remote key fob to pop open the doors. It's your gateway to an
interior that adds plenty of modern touches to the classic style.
The seats are done in supple leather. They have a timeless look of
quality that fits in this classic, but you can also tell they have
been updated. That's why the front has individual armrests for
bucket-like comfort when you want it. They both independently power
adjust, too. The classic AM radio might be in the dash, but it's
now made to be an AM/FM tuner with a CD changer in the upholstered
trunk. The surround on the upgraded steering wheel matches the
upholstery, and it's mounted on a tilt column. It gives you a clear
view of the jewel-like gauge package. And when you fire up this
Caddy, you'll also see digital readouts neatly integrated
underneath. There are a ton of great upgrades, but the best might
be the power windows and power convertible top. After all, when
combined, that means you don't even have to leave the driver's seat
to open this one up to the world. And cold-blowing air conditioning
keeps this open-top feeling comfortable even in the summer.
The engine bay is ready for display, too. It has smooth inner walls
done in an exterior-matching blue, there are beige motor accents to
match the interior, and we especially like the air custom grabber
that combines the two. Plus, there's plenty of polish in this tidy
set up to give the right chromed Caddy feeling. And when you look
beyond the style, you'll see plenty of substance. It's a 502
cubic-inch big block V8. It inhales deeply with a Holley Street
Avenger four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with added power out
of headers feeding the dual exhaust. This impressive power package
also is done well with supporting components like a serpentine belt
system and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. Add in a TH400
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power
four-wheel disc brakes, and you soon realize that this classic
coupe will leave you wanting for nothing.
It's hard to resist a custom-built classic that has all the best
upgrades. So don't deliberate too long... once this is gone, you'll
likely never see another classic coupe like it again. Call
