Vehicle Description
This is a real-deal, first-year C4 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1. And
when a full-black and well-documented 375 hp coupe is offered for
such an affordable price, well then, you know this deal might not
be around long enough for you to finish reading the details.
The Corvette has always been America's version of the European
sports car, but the ZR-1 truly merged this attitude. It went to
finishing school with the racing masters at Lotus in England, and
you could instantly tell this was a special car. Back in 1990, the
convex rear end and square-ish quad taillights were exclusive to
the "King of the Hill." Plus, the winder fenders gave this a more
aggressive stance. And because this was the first year for the
ultimate Corvette (it cost nearly double of the standard car) its
collectibility has been firmly established. This is a factory
all-black car, and that's always desirable on the vintage car
market. The odometer does reflect the car's full actual mileage,
and so you will find signs of use. But as you can see from the
pictures, the sharp-edge styling of this C4 remains quite
attractive. And those sawblade wheels look particularly nice. So
while the value price keeps room in your budget for any
improvements/upgrades you may want to make, Corvette collectors
also know the value of having a clean and complete car in what
shows all signs to be its factory-applied black.
The factory-correct black interior looks great against the black
exterior. But you can tell from its quality condition that it
didn't spend too much time with targa roof out to showcase this
very aggressive total package. The ZR-1 is meant to be a true
driver's car, that's why the leather sports seats power adjust to
your perfect position; the gauges are the perfect mix of analog and
digital; and the shifter perfectly falls into your right hand. More
than just the ultimate sports car, this is also a terrific luxury
coddler. That's because this classic comes loaded with features
like power windows, power locks, alarm system, cruise control,
provisions for air conditioning, and an AM/FM/CD/cassette Bose
stereo. There are even provisions for factory air conditioning (it
likely needs a recharge to blow cold again.) Because this is a
modern classic, there are also great modern safety features like a
driver airbag and anti-lock brakes.
The LT5 motor was developed by Lotus, and built by the sturdy
masters at Mercury Marine. That level of additional work created a
unique motor - the likes of which we might never see again. This
5.7-liter 32-valve fuel-injected V8 was rated at 375 hp, and it's
paired to a smooth-shifting six-speed manual transmission for ideal
control. A supercar-level motor like this deserves the upgraded
adjustable suspension that was part of the ZR-1 package. Plus, this
whole car is quite stock, it is also built for driving fun. That's
why there are a few subtle upgrades, like the Billy Boat exhaust
and drilled & slotted rotors on the four-wheel disc brakes.
The sale comes with the right paperwork. It includes a reproduction
window sticker, reproduction build sheet, owner's manual, and
warranty card. Even the owner's kit is still wrapped in cellophane!
So when such a desirable ZR-1 is offered for such an affordable
price, you know you need to hurry to take this supercar home. Call
