Gorgeous car! Factory Thunderbird Special with the 312 motor. I
bought this car in Florida and drove it with my family for 3 days.
It performed great. It turned so many heads and got so many
compliments. Built in long Beach CA and I believe it lived out west
most of it's life.
EXTERIOR: Being all red is really sharp. Of course the wire wheels
and whitewalls really pop, the stance is great too. The body is in
excellent condition. I'm did not find a bubble, damage or rust
anywhere. Smooth all along the bottoms. The panels all fit square
and flush. The red paint has a smooth and glossy finish. The trim
down the sides are straight and shiny with the gold anodized
inserts. It has dual mirrors, correct antenna, new hood ornament.
The bumpers are rechromed. The door jambs are painted real nice,
weather strips and sill plates are replaced. The tailgate works
nicely and the jamb is painted nicely. BF Goodrich radial whitewall
tires are mounted on wire wheels with spinners and red crown valve
stem caps.
INTERIOR: Reupholstered seats and door panels in 2 tone red &
white. New welting around the doors. The window cranks, handles and
armrests look like they're replaced. The carpet was replaced from
the firewall to the tailgate. The white perforated headliner and
visors were replaced. All the inside metal has been painted smooth
and glossy. There is a new owner's manual and glove box liner. The
speedometer lense, chrome trim, knobs are exceptionally nice. It
has a custom stereo down below the dash and seat belts in the
front. It includes a brand new picnic basket complete with dishes
and utensils still wrapped in plastic. It also has a brand new car
cover still in the plastic bag.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the Thunderbird Special 312-245 hp
motor. Upgraded with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and dressed up with
finned aluminum valve covers. It has a factory power steering
system. The master cylinder was upgraded to a dual reservoir. The
battery is bolted down properly, it has a disconnect switch. Over
all the enginee compartment is clean and proper looking.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the rear floor is a solid metal
compartment painted red. It has a jack and spare.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame at one point. The
floors are all rock solid. The chassis was restored. The front and
rear suspension was rebuilt. Upgraded with disc brakes at all four
wheels. The fuel system has been replaced. It also has a recent
dual exhaust system with glasspack type mufflers. The the bottom of
the motor is clean. It has the Cruise-O-Matic transmission.
I love just looking at this car, it's beautiful. Driving it is fun
too, you will see how many other people enjoy looking at it
too!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
