Vehicle Description
This 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has a very vintage style with
terrific factory pieces, like the two-tone paint, Recaro seat
interior, and desirable WS6 sports suspension. Plus, there have
been some solid investments, including a pricey rebuild of the
fuel-injected V8 earlier this year. It makes for quite an appealing
low-mileage classic that comes with exceptional documentation,
too.
The third-generation T/A had its styling revised a few years into
the run to maximize the impact of its sharp-edge styling. The
factory body kit, louvered hood, and extensive rear spoiler really
brought out the best in a sports car designed with the low nose and
pop-up headlights. And as you look over the pictures, you're going
to find a very well-preserved car. After all, it has averaged under
1,600 miles annually. The black paint is believed to be the
original factory application, and it has an ideal balance of a
survivor style while still keeping plenty of gloss to attract
attention. And the gold lower body section and gold 16-inch alloys
give this a premium two-tone look that's timeless on a T/A.
We have the original window sticker for this coupe, and it's such a
loaded machine it took up two pages with its options! You can
especially see that inside where only the premium Pontiacs got the
Recaro front bucket seats. They look excellent, and the full
interior reminds you of the less use you get on a low mileage
classic. There are a ton of desirable features, like power windows,
power locks, cruise control, power side mirrors, an armrest center
console, power steering, and a three-spoke sports steering wheel on
a tilt column. There are also provisions for the premium
AM/FM/cassette stereo with upgraded speakers and factory air
conditioning (they will need servicing to function again.) And of
course, we know you love having the T-tops so you can open it up to
the world.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 305 cubic-inch V8. It looks
exceptionally tidy because there was a huge investment here. We
have receipts documenting nearly $10k invested earlier this year in
rebuilding the motor. It also included the supporting areas, like a
new radiator, new exhaust, and resealing the four-speed automatic
transmission. The result is a fuel-injected powerhouse that fires
up like new, has a good idle, and shifts smoothly. So this
low-mileage T/A loves to hit the road. And the optional WS6
suspension means it's a terrific handling car that includes sway
bars and four-wheel disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with the original window sticker, owner's
manual packet, and the receipts documenting the big investment in
the motor. So if you're looking for a loaded and preserved black &
gold T/A, you know this one is truly irresistible. Call
