This car was held by an Ohio Dealership for many years as a display vehicle. It was then sold to a man from Delphos, Ohio. One of the great things about Ohio DMV is they DON’T ruin mileage history on vehicles over 10 years old. This car has low mileage and it has been recorded on the Ohio titles since it was new. It now has 48,765 miles on the odometer.
Yes, I believe the mileage to be “Actual”, just as the title says. The wear points, especially in the interior, and the way the car drives, handles and appears tells me that there is every reason to have confidence in the mileage claim.
This is an Original Paint, Original Interior, Original Trunk and Original Engine Bay car. I don’t see evidence that it is anything other than original. The plugs are in the door jams from the application of the Ziebart rust-prevention product and the decal still resides on the window. There are a few small paint chips and scratches that have been touched up, otherwise, I believe this car is very, very original.
Even the spare tire is Original. It has never been mounted. The jacking equipment, spare tire cover, cardboard trunk liners and floor covering sure look original to me. The sheet metal in the trunk is amazing. Even the weather seals are Original. They are pliable and functional. This car has Original GM embossed rubber floor mats.
The tires were recently replaced with a high quality 235/75/15 radial by Hankook. I would guess the belts and maybe some of the hoses have been replaced. Certainly the battery has.
This is a well-equipped car. It has many options that make it very enjoyable to drive. The engine is the Pontiac 400 and it is backed by a Turbo 400 Hydramatic. I failed to check to see if the rear differential has Posi-traction.
There is Power Steering and Brakes, with the fronts being disc. There is Air Conditioning, converted to 134a Freon, and tinted glass. Both outside mirrors have remote control. Both the Driver’s and Passenger’s seat are 6 way powered. The steering column tilts and the turn signal stalk switches on the Cruise Control. There are plenty of Courtesy Lights including maps lights and the rare lit vanity mirror. The radio is AM/FM Stereo. Both doors have power windows and locks. There are Rally Gauges to monitor performance. Deluxe Seat Belts restrain you. The exterior is enhanced by Door Edge moldings, fender skirts and Rally Wheels.
The black paint is still very shiny. It polished up nicely. All the bright work and body moldings are in great condition. The bumpers have guards. The white landau top is in great condition and, in combination with the factory applied white pin stripes, really sets the car off.
The black cloth, velour, upholstery is in great condition as well. The dash and arm rests are not cracked. The headliner and package tray are original and in good condition. The carpet is not faded or filthy.
All features are in good working order. The Air Conditioning was blowing cool, but not cold, on a humid 90 degree day. All lights work. The doors lock by key and there are two sets of keys. The trunk is properly equipped.
This car will be very well received at any local show. It is in great condition and is very attractive. It is the desirable two door hardtop body style. You should roam far and wide as you seek opportunities to show it off. It is a great and capable driver.
Life in Ohio was actually good to this car. It was driven sparingly, held is two collections and was properly protected with Ziebart rust prevention when new. We are thankful that it has such low mileage and that the record of that was maintained by the State of Ohio. On the other hand, I am hoping you will put some mileage on this great car.
