Fuchs Wheels GTS Classic Vallelunga Seats w/Custom Inserts This
1978 Porsche 911SC has been modified in the style of a period rally
car with SC RS-style bumpers, a ducktail engine lid, 964-style
taillights, a light pod with Hella LEDs, an Elephant Racing
suspension kit, GTS Classic seats with custom fabric inserts, and
more. Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a
five-speed Type 915 manual transaxle. We purchased this 911SC in
March of 2021, prior to that it last changed hands in 2014. Service
performed in 2020 included refinishing the 16 "Fuchs wheels,
installation of a headliner and sunroof trim panel, a new dash pad
cover, RS-style carpets, and brake pads as well as an oil change
and alignment. The 16? Fuchs wheels were refinished in August 2020
and wear BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires with 2017 date codes.
The car is lifted on an Elephant Racing Safari suspension kit, and
front braking is handled by Carrera S aluminum calipers with
replacement pistons and seals as well as braided stainless steel
hoses. New brake pads and front wheel bearings were installed under
the previous ownership. A leather-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering
wheel frames a central tachometer flanked by a 150-mph speedometer
and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil
pressure. Under Sun Valley Auto Sales ownership we added, Porsche
Classic Stereo, and added four speakers and two tweeters. The sub
woofer is from the owner of the dealerships Singer. Amazing sound
system! We installed the custom brush guard complete with the tow
rope. The roof rack was added and power run to the Rigid light bar,
complete with an interior switch. Prior to our ownership, there was
no heat. The heater box, vents, and ducting had been removed. This
coupe now has heat complete with heat exchangers ducting and vents.
The wipers were non-operational and they have been repaired and are
now in working order. The turn signals and headlights were also
INOP. The headlights have been interchanged with wiring and lights
from a 964. Turn signals are new and now work as they should. The
seats were bolted to the floor and we added rails so the seats are
now adjustable. Our German mechanic spent a day going through the
underside with a wrench tightening bolts. This Safari now drives as
tight as a Porsche should drive. The engine is very strong thanks
to the rebuild. We adjusted the timing, cleaned the throttle valve
housing, and adjusted the fuel distributor. The air-cooled
3.0-liter flat-six is said to have been rebuilt at 140k miles by
EBS Racing of Reno, Nevada with new main bearings, Goetze piston
rings, gaskets, 964 camshafts, hydraulic chain tensioners, and
sending units along with cylinder head and valve work. A Bosch
battery and spark plugs have also been fitted, the alternator
rebuilt, the oil cooler ultrasonically cleaned, and aftermarket
engine mounts installed. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a
Type 915 manual transaxle that was reportedly overhauled by 911
Design approximately 2k miles ago. A Sachs sport clutch is also
said to have been installed Features include a sunroof, an SC
RS-style hood pod with Hella LED lights, 964-style taillamps,
aftermarket mirrors. Contact Shep @ 208.721.1973
