This 1974 Chevrolet Corvette convertible will keep you smiling with
its loaded A/C interior, numbers-matching 350 V8, some added flair
on the outside, and the unmistakable feeling that comes from being
behind the wheel of America's sports car.
The original white was swapped for the timelessly attractive red a
while back. And while that will usually add aggression to a
Stingray, what likely first grabs your attention is the aggressive
hood stripe. The black strake is painted on to really highlight the
power dome of the fresh air cowl hood. More than just look sporty,
it also makes for nice coordination with the black convertible top.
This example gets the classic brightwork pieces right with the
Rally wheels, rockers, and optional rear luggage rack all looking
good. But the 1974 cars are also special for debuting the sleeker
look of the urethane bumpers front and rear.
Since the black convertible top goes so well with the paint theme,
you'll be happy to take it down to reveal quite a clean black
interior. High-back bucket seats, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel,
a large speedo/tach combo, and the full auxiliary readout in the
center are all about keeping this a driver's machine. And while
this all has a great classic appearance, there have been some
well-integrated upgrades. The radio is now a retro-style AM/FM
digital tuner. And because air conditioning is so desirable in a
drop-top, it's now blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant.
The numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8 is still providing the
power, and it looks good under the hood with its polished accents
and ribbed valve covers. And the gasket around the air grabber
tells you this one still knows how to feed cool air to its
four-barrel carburetor. The trusty small-block fires up on command,
and the dual exhaust delivers a throaty note. It has a great
throttle response and low-end torque that's delivered in a wallop
even from a standstill. The fully independent suspension,
three-speed automatic, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes
are all part of a package designed to give you an all-around fun
driving classic.
This is the drop-top Corvette built to look distinct and offer
better comfort. So if you're looking for the one classic
convertible that you'll love to drive, call today!
