Vehicle Description
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible #2909
What do you get when you mix composite carbon nano and carbon
fiber, lightweight magnesium tubing seat frames, extruded aluminum
for the lightweight but incredibly sturdy frame, and put a 6.2
liter LT1 V8 in front? The new Corvette Sting Ray of course! When
the Stingray name was first introduced by Chevrolet, it was back in
1959 on the Corvette Stingray Racer and the name was used on
various iterations of the Corvette through the years. For
consignment a fast Corvette in 2014 2LT package form. Stingray is
the designation, and this sports car from Chevrolet is lean and
fast, with plenty of creature comforts to amuse you while you go
fast. From its chromed aluminum wheels, to its all fiberglass
cowled carbon fiber trimmed, and finned body, all form has a
function, and that is why this is called America's sports car.
Features the heads up display. No stones left unturned here ladies
and gentlemen!
Exterior
This aerodynamically sculpted car is bathed in Arctic White, which
shows nearly perfect. Some nifty black accents for the hood vent
trims and side vents which also serve as a ram air system when up
to speed. All integrated bumpers, headlights, and thick rounded
rear, now taking on the Camaro-esque taillights above a quad
cluster of centered exhaust piping below. A simple but elegant rear
spoiler just barely protrudes from the trunk deck and runs into the
canvas convertible top which presents in black. This top is
immaculate and sports a glass window and power functions for the up
and down controls. Carbon fiber for the hood to lessen the weight,
and 18-inch upfront wheels and 19-inch for the back, all shined and
menacing complete the exterior.
Interior
Black, (like the top), leather mixes with black and silver
accenting and makes up this beautifully sculpted interior. The door
panels are a lesson in integrated mixture of black and faux brushed
aluminum complete with seat memories, power locks, and power
windows. Looking to get in, we see sculpted simple design seats,
with smooth leather seats all bathed in more black. A black tub
gracefully forms around this leather and adds some structural
reinforcement, which definitely keeps you in that seat during
acceleration. A central console races forward to the dash and
utilizes the same black and faux brushed aluminum surfaces to make
a sculpted ergonomic, simple designed but highly functional area
for the driver. Here we note the controls for the driving mode and
toggle parking brake actuator. Also, the small shifter and a
storage/ashtray area. Moving upward are sculpted rounded buttons
which control A/C Heat, Defrost, fan speeds and airflow options.
Directly above is a premium Bose Audio, 8-inch touch screen
Bluetooth, streaming XM capable, Navi, OnStar capable, premium
audio system. A heads-up display is seen in front of the
multi-function button adorned steering wheel.
Drivetrain
A 6.2 Liter LT1 original to this car V8 power mill produces 455
horses. This is fed by EFI and pushes power rearward to a 6-speed
automatic transmission with paddle shift capability, attached to a
2.56 limited slip rear axle.
Undercarriage
With the odometer showing a mere 9,984 original miles, this
underside is showroom. No rust, just a mixture of steel and
aluminum, all shiny and bright. SLA independent suspension is all
around, power disc brakes also in all 4 corners, and these are nice
and big. A big stainless steel exhaust snakes its way rearward from
that LT1 mill.
Drive-Ability
Slipping into the newer, (2014 and up), Corvettes is like putting
open a nicely worn leather glove. The interior seating grabs you
and holds you securely within the confines of the performance that
is about to happen. A push of the button and she lights right up,
and it's off to the test track. Here it performed with neck
snapping acceleration, wonderful speed, and with those 6 gears a
low RPM cruise. The exhaust sound was tastefully loud, and all the
creature comforts were fully operational. Stopping power is
awesome, and it is very difficult to break the rear tires loose,
you get just pure acceleration topped with only exhilaration!
Think of driving a piece of sculpture that is highly functional on
the performance front. Yes, there are a few bells and whistles that
will come with a newer 'Vette, however this one is virtually new
with the mere miles put on since its purchase. Great color, lots of
tech options, and your dream car because who does not dream of
owning a Corvette? Now is your chance, don't let it speed by.
